Here we go boys and girls. It's Super Bowl week. Can the Volunteer Peyton defeat his nemesis from Florida, Rex Grossman? We all know it's a team game but it seems like there are a legion of doubters that love to say "Peyton can't win the big game"!! As hat stated in an earlier thread Peyton now has the stage to shut all the haters up. I say, hey Peyton, "Git 'er done!!!!"

Grossman really isn't Manning's nemesis. Their college careers didn't overlap.

That's why I threw in there he came from Florida.. Peyton couldn't ever beat the Gators when he was the QB at Tennessee, right? Too bad Danny Weurful isn't playing or at least on the bench... :ermm:

What's your Top reason for watching the Super Bowl
1. The commercials
2. Chance to get flashed during the halftime show
3. To watch Grossman blow the big one
4. To watch Peyton secure his "greatness"
5. just to piss your sport's hating wife off

I wonder what Rex Grossman will do to stop Peyton Manning, and vice versa? That match up will be key! Peyton vs. Rex, Rex vs. Peyton!

Please.

I gotta say, I don't go to SuperBowl parties anymore because I actually want to see the game. Everyone else just sees the game on TV as background music for the party. It's the last real football of the season, I want to SEE it....

I'm havin' a pretty tough time deciding who to pull for in this one... I think the Colts will win, so I may just pull for me being right.

That and pulling for a good game.

I agree %100, that's why I have watched the Super Bowl for about the past 10 years at a long time friend of mine's house, so we can watch the game without all the big party distractions. There is also a factor this year that will make it even more interesting. His long time girl friend grew up in Gainesville and is an over the top Gator fan. I'll tell her that it ain't about Manning from UT vs. Grossman from gator land for ya zona.

The Super Bowl game thread will be in the Colts= 2007 World Champs thread, because that's where every game thread has been until now. It's worked out well for the Colts. We should keep it up.

I'll be pulling for the colts simply cause of Manning, my brother-in-law is a huge colts fan not cause of Manning he just grew up there before he moved to Nashville. Go Colts.

1....they weren't that great last year, so the expectations this year will be lower. we'll be easy to please this time around.
2. sure, why not? can it be Jessica Alba this time though?
3. that'd be fine with me.
4. Definitely.
5. the wife is a huge football fan.......no problems there.
