Super Hot Peppers

I think I've found a good supplier for seeds, but I'm open to suggestions.

"I take seeds from Columbia Mexico..
And plant 'em up a hollor down Copperhead road".

Or stick with your suppliers, probably safer in the long run.

What a good idea with the tires! Doesn't sound 'attractive' but very functional, especially for the peppers. From everything I've read, they like the soil to be very warm to hot. The tires would seem to help a lot.

All of mine are or will be in containers. I have to be able to move them around and bring them inside when it gets too cold.

he has about 10 acres out in the country, and has them out by a pond, so they fit in, and he keeps it mowed and trimmed, so it doesn't look bad

Haha, didn't mean that the way it sounded. If I did that, they would have to be put out front, and the HOA are still mad at me for that whole Jagermeister thing.

You guys have at those super hots... Not gonna punish myself like that. Lol

I like hot stuff.. but heat without flavor (to me) is pointless. If it numbs my mouth and makes my nose run and I can't enjoy it.. I'm out!!

What do you guys make with these? And how do you make it to where you can physically stand it and it be enjoyable?

I've been super busy and finally getting a chance to catch up. Peppers continue to grow but the super hot's aren't ripe yet. Ghosts and habs have nice pods. The scorpions are still just flowering. Hoping to see some action soon!

I started growing them just for the novelty, the pictures looked wicked and I wanted to see them up close. Then, after having a few issues growing the ghost peppers, I started doing some research and decided to make it a project.

They all supposedly have a really good flavor in addition to being really hot. Some with a sweetness, citrusy, grapefruit flavor and some like the chocolate scorpions with a citrusy smoke flavor. I don't know because I've never tasted any of them. I intend to find out. :)

Depending on the flavors, I plan to make some BBQ sauce, hot sauce and maybe some cheese. The chocolate Scorpions could be a nice addition to some homemade fresh mozzarella.

I guess I could have just bought some, but I like growing things.

I've all but given up on my ghost peppers this season. My one plant now has only two, the others fell off. I'm waiting to see if they ripen before I prune it like I did the other one.

One thing I've learned through all of this to be absolute fact. They require an abundance of patience. More than any other pepper plants.

To me there is always more satisfaction in investing yourself into something rather than buying it. I would probably do the same thing.. if I ever got the urge to petmenantly damage my taste buds lol. How do they discern those flavors in the pepper with their mouth on fire and in pain?

I don't grow any but i love hot stuff. To me it's more about the adrenaline rush of eating it than the taste sometimes.

I can understand that but I'm not that guy. I want to enjoy what I eat..not punish myself. Food is one of my simple pleasures. I enjoy a good meal. Doesn't have to be fancy or expensive, country home cooking is sometimes the best. But I gotta be able to taste it and enjoy it. Give me some heat but just make sure I can taste the food too.

Bit this is an interesting thread for me. I'm wanting to see how they turn out and what they make from them.

My friend's coworker grows Reapers and my friend gave me 2, im kinda scared to try them though lol. I have hot sauces with 600,000 and up scovilles that i can handle just fine.

How do these look compared to what y'all have? They're about the size of a quarter.

I don't have any yet, just started growing them.

Those look awesome! I'm just fascinated by them. I want some, lol.

Since you like and can obviously handle heat, please let me know what you think after trying one

If i decide to try it lol. I've seen videos of people that really eat hot stuff all the time and they were puking and had hiccups and stuff.
