Super Hot Peppers

I'm telling you man, I bet I had over 400 flowers between the two of my ghost pepper plants. I think I had 10 peppers total and all but two fell off. Soooo frustrating. I seriously hope you have better luck.

At least the two I have left are still hanging in there.

My Carolina Reaper and Scorpion seedlings are doing good, they both have 4 leafs now. The other two seedlings didn't make it. I think they got beat up by the rain.

They're so hard to grow. It's been so damn hot I'll be really lucky to have anything at this point. The few ghosts have been there a while. Shouldn't be too long now before some start turning. I hope I eventually get more but I'm not holding my breath. As for the scorpions, it's doubtful... but I'll keep working at it.

My biggest problem is too much information and processing it. What seems to be solid info on ghost peppers from someone in Texas that germinated the seeds in December using the paper towel method, is totally different from someone that germinated the seeds in March in Florida straight in dirt. Then there's the soil mixtures, oh, and it's different with other peppers.

I think I remember seeing that the ghost, reaper and scorpions can flower twice in a season. I'm hoping my ghost flower again before November. But, I get frustrated trying to find where I saw that and remember, this is an experiment and I'm learning how best to grow them right here in my particular area.

Again. I MUST BE HAVE BOOKOO PATIENCE.

I've also read that the first flowers tend to fall off. Hopefully that's the case.

Yea, I think I read that and that they also produce better the second year.

I know my ghost hasn't had any flowers for almost a month and it's getting new growth all over. I'm really hoping it blooms again and yields a bunch of peppers by October or November, which is when the reaper and scorpion should have peppers.

Rain came early today and I left my seedlings out. I think I lost the Reaper. It might make it but I said screw it. I'm now germinating the other 3 Reaper and 3 scorpion seeds. Should have done it in the first place.

That sucks!

Yea, I get up every morning at 5 and put them where they get about 5 hours of the morning sun then indirect sun until late afternoon, then I put them in a sheltered area so they don't get that hot afternoon sun and beat up by the rain. I wasn't home and the rain came early. Shat happens.

I did plant a package of mixed pepper seeds and forgot what all was in it. I noticed this afternoon one of the plants has two small peppers about 1/4 inch long, one is a vibrant red and one is brown, like a chocolate color. Haha, I have no idea what they are. It's weird, they are so small but look like they're full grown and ready to pick. Idk.

A few pics as of today.

Awesome. I'll have to look that up. Is that the Hell Fire?

yup! They are kinda expensive on the shipping costs but totally worth it if you buy multiple bottles. They do a 50% off everything sales about twice a year. I usually try to hit them up then.

What kind of seeds?

Super hot peppers. I think I've found the place I'm going to purchase from now. I just thought if his friend sold them I would check out what he had.

These plants I have now have been an experiment to get some experience on growing super hots. For next season I'm going to grow several different types, Carolina Reapers, Chocolate Douglah, Moruga Scorpion, Caramel Scorpion and Ghost (from the seeds of the pepper I have now). That's my plan anyway.

Woo hoo, won't be much longer. Mine aren't turning yet but I have noticed a slight change in color on one of the smaller ones. Probably start seeing some changes in the next few weeks.

It has a small spot of green this morning, I think it will be ready tomorrow. I'm going to make a batch of BBQ sauce with it and save the seeds to plant this next season.

I haven't heard of pepper X, but I did hear about a new pepper called Dragons Breath at 2.48 Million Supposedly hotter than the Reaper at 2.2 million. Heard it wouldn't be available to the public to grow. On my phone or I would post a link.
