I think this is rule creep. You get away with a little more each year until the umps ignore it.

Really, this is my beef with the whole issue with her. 99% (or whatever you think the percentage is) of HS/College pitchers LEARN correct techniques with the drag foot. The fact that UMPs let her blur the lines (in more ways than one) is cheating. The fact that it is "umpire discretion" lets her, and her coach get away with it, without it being corrected, is a farce. It's way more blatant than when Moss gets called on her foot leaving the rubber, and it defiantly gives her an advantage with the re-plant.

I don't think her foot leaves the box as much as the re-plant, but here is something to look for. Next time she pitches, watch how long it takes for the chalk to be rubbed out on that side of the box.

And the fact that I am NOT a coach or have taught fastpitch pitching and can see it from my TV screen should be kind of a wow moment. (because I know i'm dumb :thud: )

Apparently, she can throw 70, but can't field a bunt. Geez. Karma maybe.....

If opposing coaches don't complain about replanting, then others will simply start doing more of it, too.

RE the Ucla game: Oh, Miss! Two big chances to win it and couldn't get it done. One out, one pitch, away in the 7th, and the Mississippi pitcher throws a wild pitch that allows the tying run to score--her second wild pitch in the inning. In the 11th, Mississippi has a two run lead, Ucla has two outs and nobody on, and they come back to tie it. Credit to Ucla, blown chances for Ole Miss. I don't see them coming back from that loss. It reminded me of our horrendous blown chance against Oklahoma in 2013 or so when it was down to us and them for the title. We score 3 in the 11th--and then let OU come back in tie it, then lose the game.

That Ole Miss game sounded fantastic

bottom of the 7th UCLA came back to tie to force extra innings.

Bottom of the 10th, UCLA scored 2 runs to tie the game again after Ole Miss scored 2

Bottom of the 11th UCLA wins in walk off fashion

Hope the LVs come ready to hit tonight. We scored 8 runs in our last two wins @ aTm, and we'll probably need that kind of offensive production again this series. The top and bottom of the order have to be on their game. If we can't put runners on base, the Aggies will pitch around Gregg, who put the game away for us last time. On the flip side, I doubt we keep throwing to Vidales and let her hit 3 HRs off us like we did in College Station.

Wonder who Ralph will have bat in the 8 spot? I cringe to think it will be Lockman.

Welp, here ya go. 90% of her pitches are identical to this. Are you confused now?

I'm not sure what you mean by "overstride" but it's called a re-plant. She is obviously outside of the box too.

She's not legally outside of the box. As long as you are in contact with the line, even a sliver, you're legal.

Now Carlson at Auburn? She is out of the box quite a bit, only been called for it a handful of times. It also helps her that the lines for the pitching lane are pretty much gone after the 2nd inning as she conveniently brushes them out a bit here, a bit there...

The Lady Vols did not win this game as much as A& M flat out bungling it......walks and errors beat A&M.

but the Vols are very good at letting the opposing teams beat themselves. We've done it all year. We're a disciplined team at the plate and draw a lot of walks. The only downside is that we have a tendency to take some early good-pitch strikes, and then the pitcher is ahead in the count and can work the hitter. This is an issue far more with the bottom half of our lineup, which can't afford to not swing at good pitches. I'm predicting we get some key hits from our bottom four/five tomorrow--they're gonna show for us.

Hate to see the "P.C. 12" doing so well, but all will be right in the world so long as the Vols take home the title in OKC.

Agree on taking some great pitches to hit.Wish we could carry 6 runs forward from yesterday's game.....have a hunch we will need 5 runs plus to win today.I do not expect that A&m will fumble and bumble today ....hope so but not likely.
