The thing in Romney's favor for a general election is where his votes are coming from - middle and upper middle suburban and urban voters. This is where the GOP has been weak.

The core question would be if enough of the rural and lower middle income base would also get out and vote for him.

Once he wins the nomination I don't think that will be as big of an issue. I'll be honest and say I voted for Romney here, my folks voted Santorum, but from what people have been telling me if Romney gets the nomination they'll vote him just to get Obama out of there. I think that will be the case for a majority of people.
