I like the Colts because its still Manning vs Grossman and there is to big an advantage because of QB alone. If Joe A. runs like he has been then thats a factor but the Bears D is great at stopping the run. Bears secondary is not that great so Marv. and Co. will kill them. I want the Colts to will bad but I do like the Bears as a team.

Rex plays like crap but the Bear's defense plays well enough to keep them in it until the last two minutes and Peyton drives down the field and sets up a game winning field goal.....Peyton finally shuts the critics up

my take..........

Colts offensively......match up to watch is the bears LB's against the run, and on the TE specifically Urlacher against Clark....that will be huge. i expect the colts to come out and really try to establish the running game. if they can't run, the bears have a lot of flexibility with what they can do from a coverage and pass rush standpoint. If the colts can run, it will put the pressure on the secondary to see if they can take away one of the two WR for the colts. LB's for the bears will be huge for them.

Colts defensively.......stop the run. put it in Rexxy's hands. 1st down defense will be important. get them in obvious passing situations and force turnovers. the d line can't stop the run, that will be huge for Rex and the offense. the bears do not want to put this game in rex's hands....so force the issue.

Bears offensively, run, run, run some more. put yourself in 3rd and short. they have speed on the outside, and they will get opportunities with Moose and Berrian...but they have to be able to run it first. play keep away and take shots when available.

Bears defensively, Urlacher is the MAN. this guy will be a key factor in how well or not the bears play. he has the skill set necessary to take on a TE, and the whole group of LB's and the front 4 must be able to stop Addai and Rhodes w/out help. the secondary though is where the makes or breaks will occur. can they take away either one of the WR's?

special teams.......well, based on what i saw from the colts return game last week, Devin Hester should be able to get their attention. his play alone could get the bears a W even if the offense is struggling. colts cannot give up a cheap TD on a punt return or KO return. they need to be able to keep the bears backed up as much as possible. keep them in bad feild position and hope to force turnovers.

Adam vinateri.....kick it thru the endzone. and make all your fg's. dont' know that this will come down to a last second kick, but if it does..........uh, i like his chances.

i think these two teams match up against each other much better than the spread indicates. Urlacher vs. Manning......should be very good match up, and i think a much closer game than many will think.

in the end, i like the colts. if they don't turn the ball over, i think they have plenty enough offense to outscore the bears, plus i think Rexxy is more apt to make the bad decision in this one.

closer than the experts think.....Colts 31 Bears 26.

Bears will win a fairly boring game of everyone waiting for Manning to step up. Flashes of brilliance and domination will appear but not last. Couple picks will get the bears what they need to win. Colts will probably start to get going, get a big turnover, and ultimately settle for a field goal which will be indicitive of their whole day. Score will make it appear closer than it actually was on the field. Take the Bears, take the money line, and celebrate while you wallet fattens.

Everything about this says Colts....

Bears, 24-21
good point. now that's the factor that no one can guage. for the better part of two weeks, the bears will hear nothing but how the colts are going to win and Peyton this, peyton that..........

motivation will not be a problem for the Bears.

i would definitely take the bears +7.

One , two, tell me who are you. Three, four, tell me who's gonna score. Five, six, tell me who's got the kicks. Seven, eight, tell me who is great. Nine, ten, tell me who's gonna win. THE BEARS!!!

Because the Colts are the better team, and they have the X-factor, Dan Klecko.

Keys to the game IMHO:

Kick coverage for the Colts: AV couldn't kick them through the endzone in the dome - doubtful he can outside.

Hunter Smith has a big leg but can outkick his coverage.

Colts coverage in AFC Champ game was horrendous.

Urlacher on TE's: BU can cover the Colt TE in the deep middle route. Colts must keep him guessing on play-action and run up the middle (rather than stretch) to keep him honest. Addai must hit some good runs up the middle to open the deep middle pass to the TE.

Fortunately, the Colts have faced 2 great defenses so far in the playoffs.

Actually, if Urlacher sets about shutting down Baker, then Marvin will just turn his usual out route inside and finally make some plays in a playoff game. Short stuff over the middle, but MH can break those on occasion.

Agree about Addai. He and Rhodes need a 3.0/3.5 per carry to make things go on daBears...

Manning obliterates the highly touted Bear defense and Grossman chokes like the punk he is.

The Bears play the D they are able to and I expect they'll have every opportunity to do the unexpected...

Milo, I'm sensing disinterest. Ocho Cinco withdrawal syndrome???
:shades:
Nah. This is actually a pretty interesting Super Bowl. With the proximity of the two cities, I'm suprised it's not a bigger inter-conference rivalry. Plus the stories with Manning, Grossman, etc. are pretty good.

Although it's always tougher without CJ around.

Thomas Jones, Brian Urlacher, Devin Hester, and Lovie Smith contract pneumonia and are unable to leave Chicago. Mike Ditka fills in for all of them, coaching and playing LB, RB, and also returning punts and kickoffs. Bears win 256-0.

only because ditka takes a knee for every offensive play in after the first quarter*
