yeah, i would agree. colts must have some semblance of a running game.Keys to the game IMHO:
Kick coverage for the Colts: AV couldn't kick them through the endzone in the dome - doubtful he can outside.
Hunter Smith has a big leg but can outkick his coverage.
Colts coverage in AFC Champ game was horrendous.
Urlacher on TE's: BU can cover the Colt TE in the deep middle route. Colts must keep him guessing on play-action and run up the middle (rather than stretch) to keep him honest. Addai must hit some good runs up the middle to open the deep middle pass to the TE.
Fortunately, the Colts have faced 2 great defenses so far in the playoffs.
but like owh said......the one factor that can't be measured is the hype factor. the colts and peytong will be getting much love prior to the game, it will not be a chore playing the "it's us against the world" card for LS.
watching inside the NFL last night, chris carter had a really good point....he comared this match up to the rams/pats superbowl. rams came in with this prolific offense and a 13 pt favorite to win that game. and the past came out and ran the ball, and played defense and won the special teams game.
and chicago could be, repeat, COULD be compared favorably to that same scenario. the difference.....no one knew then that Tom Brady would be come Tom Brady. Is Rex Grossman capable of making the plays he HAS to win this game when it matters? believe me, i'm not saying Rex is the next tom brady, but you get the idea here.....
anyway......it will be interesting to see how the colts respond to being the favorite etc....everyone knows Peyton is capable of doing what is needed to win a SB. and that's why the pressure is on him more than anyone else.
Barring multiple turnovers by either team, i think this game will be a very competitive game.
