Once again, the UT basketball team is going to be miles ahead of the football team. It's absolutely pathetic how such a great bball program gets so little respect and support from its own fanbase. Get behind our team and our coach. It's going to be a fun a season, and barring any major setbacks, we actually will be in contention for an SEC championship as early as next season.

We actually hired a proven and successful coach, so you guys can rest assured that we at least have competence on the sidelines.

Tough loss for the football team. Our players deserve better.

...isn't the basketball team expected to be looking to upset some teams but not much more?

They're pretty much already being written out of tourney predictions from post-pearl fallout (new coach, 2 best players leaving, etc)

Why? You would just tell them to leave the basketball forum like the other day.

I'm not expecting us to make the NCAAs, but a lot of knowledgeable posters are, so you can TIFWIW. Point is that unlike our football team, our basketball team is probably going to have a good season and good coaching. I can't think of a better word to describe the fact that our basketball team gets minimal support other than "pathetic."

That was the outlook last weekend. Then we went to Maui, took #6 Duke to the wire and played #8 Memphis to double overtime. Now we're suddenly wanting more. Need to start picking up wins though, and Monday at Oakland and Saturday vs Pitt are good places to start.

And I will tell everyone else the same if they're spouting out garbage and lies.

This was more of an attempt to get UT fans to care about and cheer for the basketball team.

Well thats just great, now we are a Basketball school.. might as well join the big east next
Bull we are a FOOTBALL school that just happens to have a good mens Basketball team, and an awesome womens BBall program.

Ha! I would be so happy if our fan base showed any sign of us being a basketball school. You don't have anything to worry about. I just ask that you cheer for your supposed team. It's going to be fun!
