Doesn't every team have to have a representative? Who else from the Nationals should go?

I get that it's silly for him to be considered solely because of the hype surrounding him, but I can't really argue for another National going ahead of him either. (Not to mention, he's been quite good so far)

i totally agree if he was the only guy the nats could really send, but it seems like hype and popularity are the driving force. surely there is someone else such as zimmerman or someone else more deserving.

it would just really irk me if he was chosen and another more deserving guy gets left out. he will have plenty of opportunities in the future.

Jaime Garcia hasn't been what I'd consider great, and he's coming back down to Earth here lately, but he's still been a lot better than I figured.

This is from someone who never admits anyone outside of Pujols is good, but Jaime Garcia is a decent pitcher. Of course, a lot of that has to do with Duncan's pact with Satan, but I will give credit where it is due.

Team performances so far for me have been Cincy, San Diego, SF, Oakland & Atlanta.

Player performances have been Ubaldo, D.Price, Glaus, B. Gardner & Strasburg playing as good as he has

Josh Willingham has been pretty good for the Nats too. Not sure he is all star material but pretty solid.

Has anyone said Gomes? I mean, he has cooled considerably, but he has 51 RBIs. That's ridiculous.

that strasburg is not the next coming of jesus. he is in fact a human, and should not in any way be an allstar this year.

To be fair if his SS makes a routine play and turns the sure double play he gets out of the 7th with 0 runs...

sure, that is certainly accurate, but my main point is that he has not played enough to warrant an allstar bid. that is how i feel. sure he is great and has all kinds of people in awe, but hitters will adjust once there is more knowledge on him and he may not be as dominant in the future. he is just the shiny new toy at the moment until he can actually back up the stats over more of a prolonged period of time. but like you said if his team can back him defensively than it is a could of, would of, should of situation all day long. i am not knocking the guys skills as a pitcher, becuase he has all the tools to be great. but i think the media has made him a superstar a little prematurely.

Send him out there before teams can get him figured out. He might be the guy to stop the streak.
If interleague is any indication of how the all-star game will go, the streak will remain.

Cliff Lee not walking anyone all year is pretty solid
