Just heard Susan Collins (Liberal in Republican clothing) say that she would not have voted for the ACA had she known it was a tax.

So, since she voted for it, she obviously agreed with "she-who-must-not-be-named" when she said, "We have to pass this to find out what is in it". So now Collins is saying if I had known what was in it, I wouldn't have voted for it.

WHY IN THE HELL IS SHE STILL IN OFFICE? Are the people of the great state of Maine really that stupid??

No one knows how to vote anymore. We just show up and tick the names of people we recognize or names that sound good to us. Voting someone out of office is a thing of the past.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Collins voted against Obamacare. There were no Republican (in reality or in name) votes for the bill.

I thought she or Olympia snowe voted for it.

There were no Republican votes for Obamacare. The Senate split exactly along party lines.

In the House, no Republicans voted for it, but some Democrats voted against it.

I don't like Collins, but she voted against the ACA.

Don't you find it odd that in the 1990's the GOP was in favor of a healthcare mandate and there was a bill with 20 GOP Cosponsors calling for a mandate.

Now that the Dems have passed healthcare that does include a mandate the GOP is outraged.

In reality there is very little difference in the Dems and GOP. Both sides are hypocrits.

The mandate proposal was in response to the Hillarycare proposal. It was still a bad idea, but it was a better idea than Hillarycare... so I guess Obama has that going for him.

It may have been a bad idea in your opinion but the point is, the GOP was for a mandate in 1993.
The GOP has flip flopped on this issue, period.

No denying that. But who cares at this point? It's no different than LG's argument about Romneycare: it's irrelevant to those who oppose Obamacare.

So what? Different people are in office. The Tea Party has changed the field

Not all are different, some of the same members are still in office that supported a mandate.

The fact is the GOP and Dems have flip flopped on this issue.

Yep, you guys are right, although, I heard her on Fox this morning and could have sworn that she said that she would have voted differently had she known it was a tax......I still don't like her, she is a liberal, and she is fairly stupid. She is Captain obvious.
