Susan Collins - The Epitomy of Idiocy

Gramps is right they are all hypocrites. You would have to study these people. Pay attention to what they vote for or against, then make your decision. Most just don't know who or what they are voting for. They'll all tell you what you want to hear, after all they're politicians. Obama may be many things, but he's got being a politician down pat..

No one knows how to vote anymore. We just show up and tick the names of people we recognize or names that sound good to us. Voting someone out of office is a thing of the past.

Reminds of that Eddie Murphy movie A Distinguished Gentleman.

It is ironic that Congress has a sub 20% approval rating but no one wants to vote out THEIR representative.

Very true.

I live in the 1st congressional district of TN.
I sincerely believe that the GOP could make up a name with the (R) after it and beat any Dem running for US Congress.

The people that vote strictly R or D are not helping things.

The two-party system has run wild. It was once a method of compromise for men with different views... now it's become nothing more than trench warfare between two groups who are both out of touch with the people they govern.

Also, I don't think the OP realizes he misspelled "epitome" like a dummy, even after two slights.

Like the sentiment but I'll take "Elected, legislation written for and provided with a nice cushy seven figure post-congressional landing pad by special interests" here.

They're not overly ideological or out of touch, when their feet are to the fire they still get ish done, but they are all willing puppets.

I mean, look at Newt. Dude is living the Washington DC dream. A "historian" who makes far more than you or I ever will for a few power lunches a week.

Agreed, but the puppetry hints that they really have no clue what these bills do to the people they govern. I guess that's what I mean when I say out of touch. Although, the Marie Antoinette essence applies as well.

You know, Mitt's been unemployed for years. He feels our sub 35k/yr pain.

No, puppets is actually a pretty good descriptor. I know one of the OWS hippies favorite targets is ALEC, but it's actually a pretty good example of the way things actually go down. Neither congressmen nor their staff actually write the stuff, groups such as ALEC, the NRA or SEIU employ people who write the legislation then hand it gift-wrapped to congressmen. Their staffers might make tweaks, but that's about it.

No, the OP just doesn't care what your sub 35k/year butt thinks about it. Am I supposed to go back and change it because I have been slighted, twice? WTF is the point, the post has been quoted numerous times with the mis-spelling in it. Have the mod change it for you if it is bothering you.

At least my sub-35k/yr salary has afforded me literacy. It's just funny to describe someone as being the nexus of stupidity when you can't even spell your insult correctly. Although, I must applaud your combating elitism with elitism.

Misspelling*
