SW Airlines sucks

People are stranded. No telling where their luggage is. Our niece had a flight to Myrtle Beach today, and they changed her to a 12-31 flight. She didn't get her luggage when she flew here(Nashville), and they are saying she can't get it. It will be in MYR when she gets home.
So, every other airline is now sky high, but what are you gonna do. Bit the bullet and booked a AA flight tomorrow morning $$$$.
Call the IRS…. They’ll come and help

In a car you’d be there by the time you rescheduled a flight.
I will add that the couple times my flights had been delayed (with no apparent reason), that there were 0 rental cars available in Asheville, Knoxville, or Atl at the time.

What a kerfuffle. Wonder if Uber is an option?

Many times unless you have a reservation there aren't cars available, not even mentioning the crazy rates when you return a car to a location different from where you pick it up.

If the driver could get a passenger on return trip??
Wonder what that would cost? $600???

Not sure, I'm sure couldve gotten company to cover it. But for a kid, esp female that's an impossible ask.

Rental car would be way to go.

There were zero cars available for rental based on what you ask for, probably one way rentals for 1 or 2 days…..

I've seen no cars available in DC at all, regardless of drop location, this summer when storms in the north blew up flight schedules.

The original flight on SW was DC-Nashville-Myrtle Beach. She got stranded in Nashville. Has us and another aunt here.
New college grad wanted to get back to her first job. Ended up flying back to DC on AA and her father is driving her to MB today.

Yikes! That's a pretty bad deal.
Yeah, but Daddies!
I took her to BNA at 6 a.m. and she got to DC at Midnight. Spent the day in CLT.
Haa, I've got 250k AA miles and about the same in UA.. Gettiing to old and unhealthy to fly, and I Hate to fly. will probably book flights for others to use them up. There were no points flights on either airline when SW went to hell.

One of my flights from LGA was delayed 2:45 due to stewardess tardiness.

Looking around, there were employees elbow to elbow, some training.

Not sure the theory about staffing is real, as its contrived. SW just has issues. Wouldnt surprise me to see the Fed have to jump in and bail their rear ends out after this.
Oh yeah. If one wants to see competency in action, just call in the Federal government!

I have never had a single issue with Southwest. American left me stranded and so did Delta. Neither offered so much as a cheeseburger for the trouble.
I’m like you; always had great service from SW. But it’s pretty obvious from the last two episodes that something’s really screwed up. I can see how it might be antiquated crew scheduling software.

They don’t have overnight flights, and I think many (all?) crews are supposed to wind up at their home bases at night, so there’s some built in challenges right there.
