Anybody else watch Swamp People on the History Channel? I love that show. Troy seems like he would be a interesting guy to know. I'll bet he can talk some LSU football.

I love it.

After watching Troy talk, I propose that the Academy retrospectively award Adam Sandler an oscar for "The Waterboy"

My wife get upset with when I go around the house talking like Troy. I embarrassed her real good when I placed my order at O'Charleys as Troy.

Is it just me or do the people in this show not know how to shoot. First of all, I'd use my .44 Magnum not a rifle, and second, I'd shoot those gators right between the eyes before these idiots can even load their guns.

And that one Cajun looks like Kid Rock.

Im going to assume that their years of experience allows them to make a better judgement as to what firearm to use for the task than you do.

Im going to assume that their years their years of inbreeding, much like yours, makes them less likely to have the quick reflexes that I have. Some of them do use a revolver on the show, and they usually get the shot off way faster than the ones trying to get the long rifle barrel in front of the gators.

I would love to go down there and let them take me hunting. Im not saying I can hunt gator better. I am saying I could shoot something thats a foot in front of me faster than they seem to, that's all.

Was Sunday the finale?

Yup.

As for choice of weapons, I'd imagine that it may have a something to do with damage to the gator. The majority of the money they make comes from the hide. A .22 makes a hell of a lot smaller hole than a .44. Plus you have the problem of over penetration. With a .22 you may have 1 small hole, even if you miss the head and have some stray shots in other places, relatively minor hide damage. You use something like a .44 and you're likely to have a lot more damage with entrance and exit holes. Then you have the problem that if for what ever reason you get 1 in the boat and it's not completely dead and you have to shoot it again you may not only have a hole in the gator, but in your boat as well. Business expenses could even be another reason, for the cost of 1 box of .44 you can buy a whole seasons worth of .22 shells.

their brain is very small (size of an acorn) so hitting it takes some practice. Assuming you could walk right up and drop a thrashing gator is ridiculous. Plus the .22 will make a smaller hole but won't exit so you could always catch the brain on the rebound.

.44? .22?

You guys are wastes. I'd be using a bazooka. Maybe even a tank.

Who brought this jackass in here?

In case you and your superior, non-inbred brain failed to notice, the gators don't just swim up to the boat and sit still. Some of those guys are holding the line in one hand, and shooting with the other.

The show's not feeding you crap, the killshot is really, really small... just like a gator's brain.

This is kinda like the people that go out to the range and can fire sub moa groups from a bench at a stationary target and then act all godly and talk down about cops and solders wasting ammo in combat situations not getting 1 shot 1 kill and crap. There is a world of difference in hitting a stationary bulls eye with a rifle , when you have all the time in the world, and hitting a quarter when both the target AND your shooting platform are moving around like a jumping bean on crack.
