McGee is correct. I say play at night.

The fans that do crazy stuff are going to do it whether it's day or night, they're just filthy scum. I had two large drinks dumped on me and some crazy bitch screaming in my ear the entire game. When I called the usher up to complain, he told if he had to come up again I would have to be escorted out. They could not pay me to go back there.

That's actually not far from where my family had season tickets.

Our only loss in 85 was to Fla down there. Tim McGee said that the heat and humidity was awful. So my question is; would you rather play the Gators at night with less heat, but more piss bombs flying. or during the day with higher temps. Which gives us a better chance? I know fans would rather it be at night. I went to the opening game last year at Ann Arbor, which was a noon kick, and it was hot; luckily we were in the shade until half way through the 3rd. qu.
Considering a pair of big games at opponents‘ stadiums last year, we won at LSU during a day game but imploded in a very hostile environment against USCJr at night, I would vote for daytime.

Younger cats, pay attention. There are decades of reasons we older geezers despise FL and their fan base. It runs very deep in my generation. If they won with class, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. But they never do and I’ve yet to hear of any Tennessee fan being treated well down there before, during, or after a game. I want us to kick the snot out of them every time we play them in anything.

With our offense, I'm not too concerned about the heat. The defense has to play in it also and they gotta do it with less subs than they are accustomed to and at a faster pace than usual. We dictate.

I'm more concerned about the extra wind that a night game gives to the home team. Our offense is fast paced as it is. The cooler air only helps the defense catch their breath. Also, the energy in a stadium at night is hard to deal with. Case in point with the South Carolina game last year. Tennessee fans traveled well, but even then with all the light shows, fireworks, hype videos, and PA assisted chants, it can built up the other teams defense and cause our offense to get out of sync.

So, I'd rather have the day game.
Luckily we have good depth on D this year.

No issues with the seats or BHG but man too many drunk gators. We weren't drinking which is a good thing or I would have decked that crazy.

We were hardly rivals in 85 and the hostility was way overboard. Can't imagine what it's like now. Heck, when we finally got on the road, we asked a Trooper directing traffic where a good place to eat was, he said Lakeland...

We could play them at 6am in the morning and still beat them. We are flat out just better than them right now.

This has been the case for MANY of the seasons over the last 15 years. There have been times when UTs roster was much better and they still beat the Vols probably because of some strange mental block. Even with UTs awful coaching situation over those years, Florida's was not much better

It's bad, disgusting and dangerous, like the "poo laden Streets of San Francisco or walking into a Chicago 7-11 at night!

I always hear people say that we have lost to them in Gainesville when we were the better team. The only games I would say that we may have had similar talent was for the 99 and 2015 games. There is no way we were better in 91, 93, 95, 97, 05, 07, 09, 11, 13, 17, 19, and 21. But Alex Brown and conservative game calling from Fulmer/ Sanders killed us in 1999 and Butch Jones coaching the most scared and not to lose game plan with a lead killed us in 2015.

Look at the bright side, it helped to seal Butch Jones' fate.

That 2015 game was so deflating.. the Vols were actually really, really good that year… one point, one freaking point lol

That’s awesome. My roommate went down for the game, I wish I had. I went down for the night game in ‘05. Not a fun time .
Interestingly, during my 3 years of Residency training in Florida, we were 2-0 at the Swamp.

99, you have always seemed like a reasonable fan with your posts. But, it's because reasonable UF fans like you, the UF athletic dept and administration ignored this problem that it continued for so long. It was classless in the 90s and it's classless today. It's a stain on your University and it really does't seem to bother you.

The University ignored and/or condoned this behavior which is why ya'll have no rivals in being the most classless program in the SEC. 2nd place in the matter is not even close.

Help me understand this. I have read a lot on here about the piss bombs. Are they being thrown from a distance such that one can’t tell who did it? If somebody throws piss on me he better be a bad boy.
My wife was hit by 2 back to back in 2003. It was so gross.
She went into battle mode. I was just backing her up. The students were in trouble.
Idk how bad a fellow you are but you’re going to have to beat the crap out of about 20-30k drunks to find the right one or ones. I definitely support you in this endeavor and if you perish we shall sing songs of your bravery.
The two guys throwing the piss balloons were facing the section with arms raised and fists pumping.
My wife started up the steps, and an older UF couple three rows behind our seats tried to calm her down. The gentleman asked my wife to give his wife a chance to take care of it. The man's wife went up there, flashed a badge, and made the two students march down the stairs with her. She had cuffs out in seconds, but didn't need them.
The older man said he thought she could take care of it. I'm not even sure who his wife was, but I suspect she was a detective of some kind.

I'm still impressed my wife let it go. Not in her nature. It is cool having her on your side when the chips are down. She's a spooky girl when she sets her jaw, and always takes action. I've seen her scare some scary guys in bars and clubs. She drinks, she gets very passionate. If someone breaks her vibe, It's on.

I'm firing up last year's game since there is literally nothing on. I haven't watched on TV yet.

I was there in 99 for a night game and the noise was the only environment I’ve been in that compares to Neyland at its best. That said, we can take the crowd out of the game, but not the heat.
