I've heard that Renaldo is one of, if not the, hardest workers on the team.

He's also one of the most impressive in practice..

what happens when he goes in the game. he has never shown me anything, but jacking up three's at a 20 % clip. i hope he can help us this season, but i' m not holding my breath.

Oh, I know he's not showing it on the court.

But the argument that he spends too much time on his music is unfounded.

I always asked the same thing about Jonathan Crompton. Supposedly great in practice, but then just didn't show in games. :dunno:

Hey at least he hasnt been arrested or caught smoking weed like some of the others. Music is his future.

Right on cue. Only took 3 replies for someone to post this in a Swiperboy song thread.

No kidding. If a guy had a 4.0 and was a mid-level player, they would expect them to ease up on the school work.

How about we wait and see what the guy can do under a coach that actually runs an offense and defense. Not all players thrive in "controlled chaos". I sure as hell don't at work.

I can't understand why people down him for being multi-talented. He enjoys hoops and music + he can rap & sing. Haven't heard that he's having any problems remaining academically eligible nor any arrests. Who started into front of him...?

He's just better at music than basketball at this point in his life. People are interpreting that as him not working as hard as he should at basketball. IMO, I don't think his life as a musician has been significantly affecting his life as a basketball player while he's been here.

Not to mention - his music and production IS his actual major at UT basically. So a lot of his stuff probably stems from school projects and stuff as well.

Yeah he's actually doing one of those create-your-major things in the College of A&S. It's a very odd concentration because UT does not offer any music business or music production classes.I'm a little critical of UT approving his curriculum. The music faculty at UT is great, but I can't think of anyone who is seriously educated in hip-hop. He studies under professors who normally teach orchestral musics.

But IMO, it doesn't really matter. I don't think his college degree would hold him back from getting a job in the music industry.

I personally am a big fan of Swiperboy! I absolutely hate when I come on here after he puts out a new song or mixtape.. It is nothing but negativity and dissing a kid who is working his tail off to be better at basketball.. I'm sure all of your bosses wish you didn't care so much about Swiperboy and volnation.com so you would work better for the company. This kid has nothing but good things to say about UT and volnation maybe we should show him some love back..

The kid can rap about anything, it will be fun to see if he makes it, after his days at UT
