Wow, vacating over 130 games. Paying back all that money. Interesting stuff. Probably dodged post season punishment with that self imposed bs, but damn, they got nailed hard here. Lets see the same happen to UNC hopefully.

In its decision, the committee specifically addressed its concern about academic integrity.

“Improper institutional involvement and influence in a student’s academic work in order to gain or maintain eligibility is a violation of NCAA rules and a violation of the most fundamental core values of the NCAA and higher education,” the committee wrote. “The behavior in this case, which placed the desire to achieve success on the basketball court over academic integrity, demonstrated clearly misplaced institutional priorities.”

Yeah, but JB turned a blind eye for multiple years. No excuse to do that when you are the head coach of one of the most respected basketball schools out there. What Bruce did wasn't good either, but dang, at least he came out and admitted he lied. Boeheim hid all of this for years. In addition, there's probably even worse stuff going between Roy Williams and Calipari....

Boeheim got hit hard?.....for how many years of documented cheating? No offense, but tell that to Bruce Pearl who got hit much worse for lying about whether or not he invited a kid into his home for some bbq. It's all relative.

As they should. The 'AA will have to apologize for the sanctions levied on SMU during the Pony Express days for the ****storm that's about to descend on Chapel Hill.

Not sure how they justify allowing Syracuse to keep their championship, but they strip Memphis of their Final Four. Rose playing after being cleared by the NCAA, is not even close to what Syracuse did.
