Syracuse Sanctions. Tall Tree, Short Rope

:lol:UNC fans absolutely ****ting their pants.

With joy what they did should warrant the death penalty and now the precedent is set that you commit a crime and we are not going to kill you. Tough punishment but what NC did was worse with full knowledge of major staff within the University.

They will probably get a slap on the risk. The NCAA is full of homeboys.

Didn't stop them from poking UK in the hind end in 1990.

UNC will be starting frat boys who should be playing intramurals in a few years.

When will the NCAA realize that vacating past wins is not a real punishment?
This is Boeheim's second time getting caught!
In 1992 Syracuse was given two years of probation for 'widespread violations involving recruits and student athletes.'

I'm sure much of the academic impropriety has to surround Fab Melo. I've read reports where he spoke no English upon enrolling at Syracuse and that his first language was described as a "hazy Portuguese". That sounds like a recipe for trouble.

I wonder why college institutions have not created a legal department to thwart the efforts of a misguided NCAA?

"Many N.C. State fans stopped their "Wolf! Pack!" chant during Syracuse's starting lineups long enough to strongly boo Boeheim when he was introduced prior to the game.

Then others sang the chorus from the Village People's song "YMCA" during Syracuse's early possessions. It was a reference to some of the violations outlined by the NCAA, notably that a booster had provided more than $8,000 in cash to three football and two men's basketball players for volunteering at a local YMCA."

Just watching the press conference of Jim Boeheim. The craziest statement he said about the drug testing policy. "I did not know that if you did not follow the drug testing policy exactly that it is written that it was an Ncaa violation. No coach in America would have known that either."

Wow! Smh.

He's not gonna be there 3 more years.

Good thing it's not tall tree and long rope or you would get sling shot action and the head would pop off(Happened to Outlaw Black Jack Ketchum).

I would be awful surprised of the next AD does not go ahead and remove him from his position as the first order of business as new AD

I can see that, but if you were going to drop him, why not axe them both at the same time. I think they will recruit so poorly that the first season's results will drive him away early. The ACC will eat a low-talent team alive.

I joked in another thread about Little Pitino coaching Bama next year. He may be the prime candidate for this job. Following in his dad's footsteps by bringing a once proud program out of probation and then facing his father's team in league play. Would be the story of College BB for years.
