Syria attack: Activists says dozens, including children, killed by gas

Should have gone through Congress

It's interesting you say this because:

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

The President must get Congressional approval before attacking Syria-big mistake if he does not!

7:02 PM - Aug 30, 2013

and...

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

What will we get for bombing Syria besides more debt and a possible long term conflict? Obama needs Congressional approval.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Regardless if you support the strikes or not, it's pretty impressive all the hits happening within 10 seconds of each other.

That's from Russian artillery hitting Lugansk in 2015.

Well, this conversation has gotten about as retarded as it can this evening...

And not you, BB. Or McDad. Or VD. Or BH. Or Slice.

Appreciate it. But...
I may be retarded here. If Syrians are getting murdered by their leader, I understand wanting to help. I'm just tired of being world police.

Again, we shouldn't be involved.

Neither should the UK or France.

Or Russia or Iran.

Let the Syrians figure that **** out.

That feeling you have is at least a start in the right direction.

The only positive is I get to revive this:

The Syrians/Assad asked Russia and Iran to be there.

Of course they did.

And Russia is guilty of picking a side in a civil war. The same thing I believe you put the US on blast for doing in Libya.

They didn't make things better, much to your chagrin.

Ras I dont think any of us regulars in here want us involved in a civil war halfway around the world...we just aren't gonna get all "fahr Trump " about it. Tomahawk cruise missiles and a show of force are no big deal. If Trump drug us into a proxy war...we would all be calling for his head. I hope this makes NK more ready to give up their nukes. Projecting power halfway around the globe does have an upside...as long as US soldiers arent killed. Fireworks, yay!!! Who brought the marshmallows??

Crazy to think what modern weapon systems are capable of.

I was very impressed by the last video I saw of the land based missile systems we now have. On the big, and I mean big, trucks. Guess they are pur version of scud missiles? Amazing firepower. Also, the ship based lasers...super cool. I have seen prototype stuff of railguns, do we have naval ships in service now with railguns? I saw some of them with projectiles that didn't even explode...they traveled so fast and had so much mass that they made whatever they hit explode anyway, just from the force=MxA...are railguns the next big thing? I know that there are a lot of international laws against lasers...like robots...so I dont know howl far we can go with them...

The British and French were already planning on doing something.

U know this how? What tactical assets are available for the UK and French to conduct the attack without assistance? What nation provided the ISR, possible EW support for, if any manned aircraft were used, SEAD, and on and on.

If only cruise missiles, what limited Tomahawk launches from UK subs and SCALPS from manned UK and Frog aircraft?

Educate us.

Taking sides in Libya?

Anyways, so two wrongs make a right?

What is gained by a show of force?

Usually when McCain is for something you know it’s wrong.

I agree. What the hell are we doing over there? It is peculiar that the past two times Trump spoke of getting out of Syria there has been a gas/chemical attack that has changed the narrative within days.

Because little Donnie gets to flex his muscles and show how "presidential" he is. Fox News was already floating the idea that a strike on Syria would distract from Comey's book, so here we are.
