Tackling

Shacking? Is that a cross between Shaking and Shatting? Not sure I'll be partaking in any Shacking of my boots. :)

As a graduate student, I was shacking with two semi-hot gal pals who wanted to be more than just
roommates. Didn't work because by mid-semester, jealousy kicked in. I moved out as otherwise I'd have flunked school with all volcanic estrogen lava being vented daily. But in some ways it was good because shortly after that I met Shirley. Then hippie days was fun, though.

I don't think it's necessarily people being picky...just showing concern about issues that need to be addressed before the big boys come to town. You can still enjoy a win (which we do) and still be critical of areas that needs work. Everything is not always "rosey" just because we win!

I can think of one instance of poor tackling on a kickoff return. Other than that it seemed fine.

I agree wholeheartedly. There may have been an imperfect tackle or two on other plays, but from what I saw even those involved difficult angles ( due to disciplined gap resonsibilty ) and resulted in redirecting the ballcarrier into other defenders. I was pleased with the first team anyway. Yes, the backups need to improve, which is why they played so much.

Lol. Sometimes I misspell due to typing on a cell phone key board and typing too fast. But that one was really bad. Shaking I meant shaking in our boots. :)

That Joe Adams return is still up on sports websites-- two fricking years later! I LOL every time he fumbles for the Panthers.

I think maybe your referring to kickoff return. The positive I took from that is after coverage team came back to the sideline Coach Jones rounded them all up and spoke to them and got a clipboard from assistant and was coaching them up. The next kickoff was much better. That was nice to see that coaching moment.

Once you subtract all Peay's delay of game penalties, false start, holding penalties, we only gave up about 175 yards.

Not perfect, but our defense played fierce and had them rattled most of the game. We got a lot of new players some PT. I think we should be pretty happy.

After last year, I wondered if I'd ever see a shut out again. We even gave up 26 points to Akron, which only posted 1 win all season.
