Due to the previous regime's recruiting and player development, we have virtually no Seniors in the 2 deep.

If Lane continues playing at this level, Scott will be plugged in as the #2 very soon. That means our offense will have Worley as the only Senior in the 2 deep. Defensively, AJ, Williams, and Coleman are it. Read that again.

Look at ANY team's starting 22 and you will generally see Senior, juniors, and the occasional Redshirt Soph. We started 5 true freshman on offense and 2 on defense and nearly pulled it off.

Happier days ahead.

Cant be true from what ive read on here the past two days. Hell, there are teams all over the country with 83 first year players, mostly true freshman and sophmores winning every game. havent you heard about it?

i heard there was one team that only played freshmen every year and won every game by 45 points. wish we could get them for a coaching staff then we wouldnt have to listen to all the bulls*** about play calling and how our coaches cant coach(more horses***).

that game was lost yesterday when the young guys(on the road) made freshmen mistakes. 1)the fumble in the endzone for a td 2)peterman turnover (in fg range)after worley got hurt. even with all the penalties and other mistakes if we dont make those two we win.

BTW i am tired of moral victories but if you cant see this team is getting better every week then your an idiot.

so after all the sarcasm i agree better days are ahead!!

we goin whip the gatas a**

Happier days are ahead! Haven't heard that lately...
If you really can't see the progression and the improvement of the team in talent and effort and play over the one last year, and certainly over the one 2 years ago, can't factor in the youth of the team, the improvement in the talent level of the recruits, the spirit and attitude change in the team and see that things are better now than they were and are steadily (albeit slowly for some of the more impatient fans) improving, then I just don't know what to tell you.

This is just like the mid-80's under CJM through the 90's under Fulmer...slow but steady improvement year after year. I guess I have a different take on this turn around than a lot of others because I remember the last round so well...

I wish it were faster, I wish they would start winning these games just like you do, but it simply just takes time to gain experience and maturity on the field.

Honestly, I'm actually enjoying this, because even though the losses are hard to take, I can see where it is going having watched it happen before.

I'm not a "moral victory" type of fan, either. A loss is a loss. But I am excited by what is obviously happening with the team and willing to give it the time needed. Especially after thinking during Dooley's tenure as HC that it would be a decade before the team was where they are now just two years removed from his particular brand of idiotic incompetence.

I actually see the Vols winning 4 of 6 against Florida, Missouri, USCe, 'Bama (**** 'BAMA!!!) Kentucky and Vanderbilt. At the beginning of the year my expectations were 3 of those 6 as wins. It may be 2 of 6. It doesn't really matter to me because it isn't this year or even next year that I expect us to win the east. 2016 is the year that is realistic based on the schedule, the recruiting, the changeover in QB next year, quality depth and some of the most talented players leaving school early for the draft.

After that, it's just like before...sky is the limit for this team as long as the coaching is equal to the task...and I expect that to improve as long as they stick together.

Have a little patience, it really is all coming together.

Von Smith is our only real threat of a player bolting early for the draft.

Outside of AJ @ JW impact on graduation will be virtually nuttin!

Don't forget to add Darr to the SRs on 2-deep.
