That is ridiculous. Tennessee had 5 players taken in the first 78 picks of the 2023 NFL Draft. Darnell Wright was selected 10th overall. We are not a program that reloads. Primarily due to coaching instability, we have had recent recruiting classes gutted by attrition.I've seen several shows say we're lacking talent this year. There is no way we have less talent this year than 2years ago. The defense is not good at all and the offense isn't either..
We were much better on paper than Florida. I love Heupel but he needs to get his crap together and cut lose some dead weightI've seen several shows say we're lacking talent this year. We have talent. It's just that it's mainly young and inexperienced. This is a transition year. Give me 8-9 wins and a really healthy performance in the portal this year and I'll be content.I've seen several shows say we're lacking talent this year. You do realize that he wasn't hired at Tennessee until January 27th, 2021, right? What was he supposed to do in a week?
But they were all Pruitt recruits. We are in year 3 of Hypes recruits. I am still behind Hype, and I really hope he continues to succeed. I am well pleased with the first 2 years, but this year and next year will really tell us about our hc. And I have not given up on this year. We have played bad at the swamp for years, finish strong and all will be ok. But we are going to have to throw downfield more than we have this year. Why are we not throwing as much down field as we have the previous 2 years??That is ridiculous. Tennessee had 5 players taken in the first 78 picks of the 2023 NFL Draft. We should be better than what we put on the field last night, however.

There’s seniors EVERYWHERE on this roster. Youth and experience can’t be an excuse this year. Next year should be the reloading year, not this one.I've seen several shows say we're lacking talent this year. There is no way we have less talent this year than 2years ago. Ok, I agree on 2 recruiting classes, my bad. Hype is in his 3rd year, but really only 2 recruiting years. No, we're not.
Josh Heupel didn't have a class in 2021. He wasn't hired until January 27th... and there had already been an early signing period. You can't call the signing class of 2021 Heupel's class. That would be grossly unfair. There was nothing left on the board by the time he was hired.
Heupel has had two recruiting classes, both of which were signed under the cloud of an NCAA investigation into major violations, which our administration had already admitted to.
We have more talent on defense and less talent on offense. The new talent on defense is good but inexperienced. The LBs will be outstanding as their experience increases. We really don’t miss the talent we lost on defense except at one DE. On offense, we lost a lot of talent which has not yet been playing. Our returning center has not played and is as good as any in the SEC. We have not been able to replace our right tackle or our left guard with comparable talent. Offensive linemen take more time to develop of any position in football, including QB. Most of our Olinemen are upperclassmen and will not see the field next year because of lost eligibility. Hopefully our younger Olinemen will develop this Fall and the next off season. Our Receivers are talented but have not yet shown they compare to what we lost in the NFL draft. The loss of our QB was our biggest blow. He was exceptional. Our Freshman QB appears to have lots of talent, but he still has to learn the system to be effective In the SEC.Ou kicking game has had a couple of hiccups but they are more talented than those who graduated. We will better on Special Teams than we were last year.According to the talent composite we have slightly more talent this year than last year, but I'd argue we have alot less at the most important position on the field and that cancels it out and then some.
