Tamari Key to Tennessee

So, Yesterday Tamari committed.
What happens Today?

Coaches are currently in a Dead Period through the 22nd, which means recruits cannot make visits, and coaches cannot have face to face interactions with recruits.

They can write, text, and call recruits and parents however, so I'm betting there are lots of minutes being used today.

Holly stated she wants 4 for 2019, she is looking for shooters.

Wish we had a few decent shooters the past few years. Might have won a few more games. We are awful from three point line and have been for several years. I don’t get it, other teams find good shooters but not us.

There's this new technique out called developing shooters if you can't go out and buy one rent one or find one, why not try to build one...Maybe they are...

Hoped she would be a Lady Vol months ago and now it has happened. Great job recruiting the player we needed. She is the rim defender we haven't had in a while.

So that means no Cordosa for 2020?? It'll be hard to convince with having 5 post on the roster.

I don’t see 5 posts ?? KK will be a senior..... Collins and Burrell are not posts ! But if you think so they would be Juniors... Saunders thinks she is a four??? And Key ? They would be Sophomores... (Saunders rated 100 & Key might be in the top 50???

Kamilla Coradosa has been in the top ten for two years and still has two more years to play in high
school.... I don’t think she would be concerned about Saunders and Key.... JMO

Now if Hannah Gusters 6’5” P from Texas rated (#7 or #9) depends on who you believe??? Same class of 2020 ! She might want to go somewhere else?

Well Holly will have options with Saunders, Key and Kasiyahna Kushkituah. We will need to wait and see how Kasiyahna Kushkituah progress over the summer. I think the most most likely scenario for 2019 is Kushkituah moves to the 4 And Let her and Collins battle it out. Saunders also looks like she can play the 4 to. Note: i only saw a little tape on Saunders so im not sure what her skills are like. Now as for Key when watching her play you see a little of Izzy and Ashley Robinson, And as for Key 50 ranking she only played 9 games. But when she was on the court she was a force. Key averaged 13.9 points, 11.2 rebounds and 5.5 blocks as a junior. Her High coach Patrick Daly said Key will need to add more upper body strength at the collegiate level. On defense, Daly said Key's athletic ability and timing enhance her shot blocking. He said that Key runs the floor well and is versatile offensively. "She has a nice touch around the basket," Daly said. "She has pretty form on her jump shot. She is good from 12-14 feet.

:victory:As always each young woman will be 16 month older before she steps on the floor with the LVs for her first game. Maturity in game knowledge, strength, weight, perhaps even height plus improvement in all skills areas. (sometime even in playing the level of defense needed for the college game). The two high school juniors committed to the LVs are great additions. And for the first time in many, many years boarders will not be in agony with "we don't need guards, we need more posts!"

Congrats to Tamari for committing. Landing a 6-5 big is a solid get. Ranked #50 on ProspectNations, I'd love for her to outperform her ranking or make big strides within time. Can't teach height, and quality bigs are definitely needed with Russell graduating. Big girls typically take a little longer to adjust playing collegiately and I'm hoping she can be a solid role player and rim protector. I still think Holly needs to land 1-2 top 10 kids in 2019 if she has wants the program to be competitive in upcoming years. Landing players in the 30-60 range is good, but they're usually complimentary players at UT rather than big time scorers. Hoping for the best, congrats to Tamari.

For my money.... we need competent well coached guards..... that is where it is at in the WCBB game... most important position after the coach.... having said that i am happy the posts are here

Nice pick up. Nice job staff. Jackson would be ideal. She is one of the top three athletes in the class.

Quick question?? I didn't see her ranked on ESPN Gurlz 2019.. Anyone know why?

The poster djtee seems to know a lot about this young lady and I think stated she only played in about 9 games due to injury. In those 9 games coming off injury she averaged 13+ points, 11.5 rebounds, and 5.5 blocks per game.

I think she may be a late bloomer like Izzy. She didn’t seem to play varsity til sophomore year (she played in 1 game as a freshman probably got moved up at end of season like some schools do for the conference tourney) and when she did play varsity they went from a losing season the previous season to 15-10 then only playing 10 games as a junior they were 12-15 without her. I am intrigued to see a healthy Tamari for a whole season will do. Plus keep an eye on her sister who averages over 12 points a game on varsity as a freshman. They also said she has been making a splash on the summer circuit this summer so interesting to see how that translates to her success during her senior year. I wonder if she will get that I’m 6’5” dominant personality and take over.

Here is a link I found on max prep with her stats.
