According to The Atlanta Journal Constitutional
Stephens County running back Tauren Poole’s commitment to Tennessee has gone from soft verbal to solid.

This Guy must be confident bc our RB's are already stacked. Any thoughts on how the RB situation is going to shape out after the 07 season.. Could Foster leave early? Will anyone transfer or change positions?...

could foster leave early... :post-4-1090547912:

Fulmer is still high on foster for reasons noone knows so he will get first shot at Rb this season. maybe he holds on to the ball this year or gets a big head after this season and feels he is better than he actually is, like what happened to Rob Smith. or maybe he just realizes he has no future in football, gets bumped down the depth chart and leaves the team. who knows

the second option seems to be the most fair assesment of him leaving early

If he sticks, that will be good. If not, I would love to land DeAnthony Curtis. I would actually rather have Curtis, but o well.

Back to Tauren Poole, he is playing my old high school the third week of the season. I can't wait to go watch this kid play. I hear he's like Travis Stephens.

I really thought Poole was going to be rated higher. But I don't mind much. I think he is going to be good, no matter what he is ranked.

I think Foster is going to be good next year. I see him getting more carries than Coker, simply because he's more of a pure RB. I really like his attitude and his work ethic. Everyone gives him some crap, although maybe not without blame, but I think is gonna be good next year, AND the year after that!

Yeah, he has some of the best work ethic on the team. Hopefully he goes back to being the power RB for us. Him and Coker will be a nice 1-2 punch, with Hardesty getting plenty of carries too.

my biggest problem with Foster is he just doesn't pack the punch that guys like T. Henry, Lewis, and T. Stevens had. He runs hard, but he isn't going to run someone over either.

He hasn't yet..but it is hard to find guys like Henry, Lewis, etc. If he continues to work as hard as he has, I think he will ;)

He is no henry or lewis but he breaks more tackles than any back we have. I just wish he would hold on to the football more.

agreed, he still hangs the ball out when he runs. I think if Coker can put on some more weight he will be able to run some people over. He breaks tackles pretty well and he at least tries to run people over, he's just too small right now. He has breaking tackle ability though; you can tell by watching the Memphis game (yeah I know it's Memphis), but it was one of the few games he was totally healthy.

our runningbacks are far from stacked. We dont have a runningback on the team that will have any kind of pro career. Btw, Brent Hubbs said that Coker has lost 5-10 lbs which is scary because he was small last year. He cant block at all either.Poole still says he is gonna take visits so and apparent LSU who he lives less than an hour away from is coming after him hard.

Foster was the highlight of the 2005 season. Every running back fumbles, give him a break.

Foster is SO slow. If he could even run like 4.5 speed he would be so much better. There have been too many times where people have run him down and cowboy collared him to the ground. He's a big guy, but he's just too slow.

Coker is smaller, but he's a much faster back. He hits the hole and doesn't shuffle his feet on zone blocking plays (which is like 90% of TN's run game).

Hardesty is a mix between the two. He's apparently having trouble with his knees so he may or may not have a good year.

I hope to see Coker getting the majority of the carries.

The only team foster could run for over 200 against ever would be Vanderbilt. He got what like 40 carries in that game. Oh and as for the hour away that came from an article I read, I dont know where the county is. Still LSU is a major player and he is still taking visits, i wouldnt call that solid. Acording to him all he AJC asked him if he was committed to Tennessee and he said yes and thats it. So they were most likely trying to make an article out of nothing.

Let me know when another of our players gets 200 yards in a game.

You take away his one run really long run and his stats were much less substantial. Especially for 30 carries. I'll admit he did have an amazing performance that day but he is not a good back. One performance doesnt make a player. He's slow has no moves and for his 220 size, is not that powerful. Coker is tiny but fast and cant block. Hardesty is still hurt so we dont know if he will be effective. None of our backs are anything special. Coker is our best runner but he has other issues such as his size and him leaving the QB running for his life.
