Northwestern wins their first bowl game in 60+ years and Vandy has their first 9 win season in almost a century.

Revenge of the Nerds!!!

I said the other day that the SEC is overrated this season despite what the rankings show. The only reason so many teams are ranked this highly is because they started off high in the polls based off previous success of the conference. Some people vehemently disagreed.

Between SEC teams struggling with a bunch of bottom feeders and Vandy/Miss St. doing as well as they did in conference, I didn't think the SEC had a very good showing at all this season ooc. Now you've got LSU and Miss St. losing to Clemson and Northwestern while South Carolina is down by one and Georgia is tied with a team that just got slaughtered 70-31 by a 7-5 team. Just saying because I've talked to a number of people who think that football outside of the SEC is terrible and they couldn't compete. Georgia and South Carolina may win but I haven't seen this superiority that a lot of people claim.

Quite frankly though, good. I love the Vols and hate the rest of the SEC, screw em. Unfortunately I don't see Alabama losing to Notre Dame, not that it would be the worst thing if they won. I don't exactly care for Notre Dame either.

The only loss that surprises me is LSU losing. However, LSU, South Carolina, Miss St and UGA all have their warts. LSU and South Carolina's offense struggles at times, but their D usually gets turnovers to bail them out. Miss St and UGA's D isn't great and we're seeing today that Northwestern and Nebraska are going up and down the field on them. UGA has too much talent to look like this. It appears they have a little hangover from the SECCG.

I don't know if the SEC was overrated as much as it was extremely competitive which led to it being not as top-heavy as last year. LSU/UGA/SC/Bama/Ags/UF were all great teams this year, no one should be surprised that no one went undefeated in the conference.
