Taylor Swift Phenomenon

Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus are the same thing. Watered down crap made for high school aged girls and younger. I really don't understand how anyone considers her a good song writer. Just because they are catchy doesn't mean her songs are great. Thats like saying TV commercial jingles are good songs because they are catchy.

Anyone that considers her a country artist has been watching too much CMT. She does not have a country bone in her body. Pure pop, nothing more, nothing less.

She is popular because she appeals to air head high school girls who are used to being fed the watered down crap that main stream radio feeds them. Her songs are all "he doesn't like me and I am sad" blah bah. She is crap.

Taylor Swift is not a country music artist. Hank Williams, Jr., Waylon Jennings, Jamey Johnson - these are country musicians. Girls in the 10-21 age range almost entirely make up Swift's audience. Personally, I can't stand her and I change the station anytime one of her songs plays.

Young, tall and attractive, that about sums it up. I don't listen to country, but she and Miley Cyrus seem to be the same thing in different packages.

She's attractive, marketable and has a very easy-to-listen-to (relatively mediocre) voice.

Tried and true combo that's been a big-time money maker since the dawn of time.

For reference, see: 90% of the female singers that have made albums as a result of American Idol.

She's weird looking. I don't buy the sex appeal argument at all. She has none.
