Taylor update

ESPN said that he is probably waiting to hear from the SC staff. He is originally from So Cal and USC is his dream school. I know that Lane said he wasn't going after any UT commits but we ALL saw the phone call and have heard the Ambles/Rogers rumor thinking this kid is holding out for Kiffin calls. Crazy that all the recruits that he tried to get at UT are his players now. He's trying to cherry pick a few UT and UF commits in the coming week. This may play out worse than most Uf fans will admit but he could land Taylor, Dorsey, Green, Jones, Ambles, Rogers and Riley before NSD.

Um... No. You don't know what you're talking about.

I have a clue. I've lurked around these forums for sometime, reading but never posting. Your previous, like many of your post, is completely off base.

Take Demar Dorsey for example. This is a kid with severe academic issues. He has practically no chance at even qualifying for USCw, and even if that weren't the case, he's never even indicated he has the slightest interest in USCw, yet your predicting he may end up there?

Michael Taylor isn't a Gator because the Gators are playing wait and see with Jordan Hicks.... not because Taylor is more interested in the Trojans.

etc

lol...please quote an off base post......Dorsey has stated that he would visit USC in the past, he was waiting to get his test score on file and he's likes Monte.Yes, he has grades issues but USC has taken a few players that couldn't get into SEC(Keith Rivers is one name that comes to mind....couldn't get SEC min math score). Chirstian Jones, has talked about USC and Kiffin many times. I've said that all or any would become Trojans but USC has a tradition and they have Monte. Trust me Kiffin will turn a few players at USC just like he did at UT.

You're making Florida fans sound ignorant. Keith Rivers had no problem qualifying. SEC min math score? WTF is that? Are you talking about the extra math requirement for JUCO transfers? You do realize that Rivers was a HSer and not a JUCO right?

As it stands right now, Dorsey has cancelled his Tennessee visit and only has a FSU and an UF visit scheduled. Kiffin isn't gonna turn him unless he can't qualify, because Meyer doesn't take guys who aren't likely to qualify.

For the other poster, where did you hear that Christian Jones cancelled his UF visit? Last I heard he's still visiting this weekend. Long shot either way, he's most likely FSU bound.

All players have to make a min score on the SAT/ACT but each part has a score they must achieve and each conference/school can add to the min level set by the NCAA. Please go to the NCAA website and click on the clearing house section also ask around or google to do the back ground on Rivers but unitl then don't call anyone ignorant before you have facts. Funny that Kiffin can't turn Dorsey now with him coaching at USC but just last week Lane was going to turn him by NSD. lol Back to Taylor....think UF is waiting to strike out with Hicks but if the get Jones IMO they still will take Taylor's commit. With four spots left two will go to offense(wr, ol) and two defense(lb/ath).

So does the SEC have a minimum math score requirement or not? Because that's what you said, right? Why don't you google it then get back to me with the answer.

It is not a score, it is a math class that several recruits have trouble with i.e. John Brown barely got in. We would take Taylor and Hicks if possible (not saying we get both or either one for sure) we need LB's especially with who we are losing and with Doe being arrested again for not doing his community service.

Doe's arrest is irrelevant. He just finished his senior year.

For high schoolers, the SEC doesn't require anything differently than other conferences except not allowing partial qualifiers, which, to my knowledge, only the Big East out of the BCS conference does. For JUCO transfers, on the other hand, the SEC requires a college level math class that no other conference requires, and that has been a hurdle at times for UF, e.g. Larry Grant.

John Brown has a learning disability, he would've had a hard time getting into any school. It wasn't something particular to UF or the SEC.

Most kids head to prep school because they need a core class or have lower test scores(math or verbal) on the SAT/ACT but their gpa isn't below level...juco usually happens if a player has grades and test score issues. I know for a fact that UF requires a higher math score and specific math classes(HS) for athletes above the NCAA admission level.

I also know after talking to athletes there is definitely a specific math class that UF requires. It has hurt us in the past when trying to get kids to qualify.
