Tayven Jackson gets his shot

Former Vol QB Tayven Jackson gets his first start of the season today due to Kurtis Rourke being injured. The former Vol is very talented and he saw the writing on the wall in Knoxville. He was simply in a position where he was never going to get his shot here, so he went home. He really wanted to be a Vol, but sometimes things simply don't work out. Indiana is having an incredible season after being a perennial dumpster fire. I wish him nothing but the best and great success.

I am forgetting, what was the story about him? Did he lose out to Hooker and Milton.

No good luck to traitors

I don't blame these players for doing what is best for them. Frankly, we do the same thing with our career paths. There are some that are immature with their actions but I don't think Tayven Jackson fits that description.

Now Tyler Baron, Henry To'o To'o, and Eric Gray may fit the Bill of a traitor. IMO if you are a starter at Tennessee and will still be a starter but you transfer away, that is probably grounds for criticism.

Tayven came in for relief against Nebraska and looked really sharp.8-9 two TDs.

With the injury to the starter it looks like he takes over for the 13th ranked Hoosiers for at least a couple games starting with Washington with Michigan and Ohio State right around the corner.

He spent one season at Tennessee and really said wonderful things about his experience- seems like a great kid and I hope he is successful.

Today is Lee Corso Day in Bloomington and Corso played defensive back at Indiana as well as being the head coach there.

I seem to remember Tayven breaking his shoulder the year before Nico arrived. That basically eliminated his only chance of getting ahead of Nico on the depth chart. Is my memory failing me?

No offense to Tayven, he seems like a great kid and has said nothing but positive things about his time here, but go Huskies. We need IU to lose. This cute little story needs to end .

I'm guessing between Ohio St. and Michigan they are losing one of those. Michigan they get at home so maybe not that one, but at OSU will still be very tough even though this OSU teams isn't nearly as good as a typical OSU team.

The B18 is probably secretly hoping they lose because they have a potential mess with Oregon, Penn St. and Indiana can all end up undefeated and in that scenario Indiana will be left out of the B18 Championship game. And that actually probably is better for them because then they probably will get an at large bid; I mean I can't see them leaving out an undefeated B18 team who was shut out of the B18 Championship Game through no fault of their own.

On the flip side if Indiana has to play the B18 Championship I think that's worse for them because they're one of those P4 teams that is P4 in name only, they have to win out still to probably make the playoffs. Say they make it and PSU loses but Indiana loses to Oregon in the B18 Championship, then PSU would probably get a playoff spot over Indiana, which personally I think would be BS to punish Indiana for losing an extra game.

I liked your post, but I couldn’t help but root for IU yesterday. Visited that campus once because I was considering one of their graduate programs; very pretty campus and Bloomington is a really nice small college town. That part of Indiana is actually hilly as well, which is a plus.

Based on recent history, IU may not be a fringe team getting in over us; they may be one of the top dogs in the Big Ten. OSU and Penn State better watch out.

I think IU is good and if they go 11-1 they will get in. I dont know that any P4 team would get left out at 11-1, especially from the B1G or SEC. The only way I could see them potentially getting left out is if they play Ohio State and get absolutely demolished by 50 or something.

I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about IU and their campus. Sounds like it’s a lot of fun up there. I don’t think I anticipated how much of a logjam there might be at 10-2 or 11-1. If you would’ve told me that we would go 10-2, I would’ve been very confident that we would be in the CFP. Now, I think a lot of it depends on how we look in Athens win or lose. We can’t go down there and get handled …Again. Ironically, playing Vandy at the end of the season could actually help our SOS for once. All that said, we need IU to drop a couple. And badly . Same with Pitt and USC jr needs to beat Clemson. We should all hope that Miami runs the table, we don’t need any bracket busters .

Frustrating thing about Miami is they could’ve easily already lost two and would be all but out of contention. I sincerely think that if they come up against a team like Oregon, UGA, or us in the playoff, they’ll get mollywhopped.
