i hear him. he does help guys stay out of jail, just like letting guys back in the lineup after a felony for a big game. big lesson learned

What else would you expect him to say?

no kidding.

if this is the case, people can stop calling miami a bunch of thugs who used to run up the score. it goes both ways.

If they did this to Meyer, his reaction would've been similar, especially since he and his gators think they are at some unreachable point.

That's exactly the response I would hope Tebow would have. Good for him that he has his coach's back. Good for him that he has the mentality to play hard for 60 minutes. Bad for him that his coach pulled a move that was both classless and wreckless.

Nope. Guess you haven't heard all of his comments. I got to hear some of them living down here in Orlando on the radio this morning.

I meant to say i'm sure he'll move on just fine. But hey, i haven't heard all of what he's said. Once again, reverse the situation.. We'd hear meyer, and Florida fans.

I hear ya. What he did wasn't great but it's one of those rivalries where these things happen and fuel's the fire. Put it in the memory bank for the next game.

I prefer it like it was in the old days. Rather than griping about each other in the press, when 2 coaches had a disagreement, they'd settle it with a dance off.

Kind of like how East Carolina handles it's stadium security violations.

I dont see the problem. I'm completely lost on this. Would Miami prefered that Tebow bomb one into the end zone and go for a 2 point conversion?

We never whined that they (Miami) ran up the score on us. We whined because they were bigger, stronger, and faster than us.

There's a difference.

This says it all:

"I'll have Coach Meyer's back on anything."

So you whined that they were better than you but did not whine about scumbag coaching? I know too many Gator fans and have heard too much whining about Miami. I'm calling BS.

And for everybody who doesn't get why Shannon is commenting on it should think about what this does for recruiting. Shannon managed to find a way to stir up pride in the recruits from Miami who may have lost some of that pride in recent years. He just turned this rivalry back into a N. Florida vs S. Florida mentality. Guess where most of the talent in Florida is? It's a brilliant move on his part and a mistake on Urban's part. He just built as big of a fence around the Miami metro area as he can.

I went to UF 1982-1986 undergrad, so I've been a Gator fan for 26 years. I cannot recall anyone, among people I directly talked to, or comments in newspapers or what have you, EVER complaining that someone ran the score up on us, least of all Miami or FSU.

If they did blow us out, and they surely did from time to time given how weak we were in those years, we were too consumed with frustration and anger at our own team to bother with bitching that they were a bunch of meanies.

Seriously. These aren't 8 year old pee wee soccer players. They are young men anxious to make millions at the next level. The notion that they had their feelings hurt or were insulted is laughable.
