Herschel Walker didn't play for UT, and I consider him the best college football player that I've ever seen.

Or Bo Jackson.

As a total package of leadership and play, I'd take Al Wilson. Hell, his leadership even helped us overcome Fulmer's lack thereof.

Al Wilson willed his team to win without a doubt.

I never actually saw Bo in person, but he deserves to be near the top of any such list.

Darn. We almost made it through a whole day without Guru starting one of his stupid threads.

I'm wondering if Guru is someone else who enjoys getting a rise out of people; or he is just a developmentally challenged inbred.

I've had this discussion before and have come to the conclusion there is no "right" answer, just a matter of preference between the two but Bo Jackson was the greatest college football player and athlete I've ever seen.

I give Herschel Walker the nod just because of the QB's he had to play with. Buck Belue might be the worst starting QB on a national championship team of all time.

Tim Tebow plays against faster, smarter, and more complex defenses than Red Grange did. Sorry, you lose on this one.

These comparisons are meaningless because its all subjective. Any effort to objectively identify the best is doomed ot fail because the players being compared played a) different positions; b) against different teams; c) with different players at different times; d) under different rules; e) with different players around them.

About all you can say is that guys like Granger, or Herschel Walker, or Tim Tebow were all better by comparison to their contemporaneous counterparts than were the other players of their time.

Anything else is comparing apples to oranges. Or at least apple slices to apple sauce.

It comes to fact that Tim Tebow is in fact not the greatest college football player in history like everyone is proclaiming him to be which put a huge smile on my rotten face, haha. Tebow, himself needs to step back and check the stats. Another thing is don't expect a whole lot from the Gators this year as I believe the pressure is too much and they will crack. The best player to ever play college football is simply Red Grange who attended Illinois and played from 1923-1925, so media outlets take a step back and wipe your Tebow sucking mouths off and let reality bite you right in the ass. GO VOLS!!!:dance2:

Go to bed and be sure to check into rehab first thing in the morning....Brain rot is a terrible thing.

If Tebow "sucks" then we must be awful beyond compare since we can't seem to beat such a sucky player.

Oh and BTW..you're an idiot.

I think that you just blew his mind with that post. Judging by the OP's thread, I am not sure he will be able to grasp what you are saying.

Bo and Hershel were the two best I ever saw in person...but Dorsett has to be very close to both!

"In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in a social network online community, such as an online discussion forum, a chat room, a blog or a collaborative content online community with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional or disciplinary response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.[2] A troll's main goal is usually to arouse anger and frustration among the message board's other participants, and will write whatever it takes to achieve this end. One popular trolling strategy is the practice of Winning by Losing. While the victim is trying to put forward solid and convincing facts to prove his position, the troll's only goal is to infuriate its prey. The troll takes (what it knows to be) a badly flawed, wholly illogical argument, and then vigorously defends it while mocking and insulting its prey. The troll looks like a complete fool, but this is all part of the plan. The victim becomes noticeably angry by trying to repeatedly explain the flaws of the troll's argument. Provoking this anger was the troll's one and only goal from the very beginning. Trolls can be existing members of a community that rarely post and often contribute no useful information to the thread, but instead make argumentative posts in an attempt to discredit another person, concentrating almost exclusively on facts irrelevant to the point of the conversation, with the intent of provoking a reaction from others. The key element under attack by a troll is known only to the troll. Experienced participants in online forums know that the most effective way to discourage a troll is usually to ignore him or her, because responding encourages a true troll to continue disruptive posts — hence the often-seen warning "Please do not feed the trolls". Frequently, someone who has been labeled a troll by a group may seek to redeem their reputation by discrediting their opponents, for example by claiming that other members of the group are closed-minded, conspirators, or trolls themselves."

Good point, he wasn't all world but Randy Campbell (I think he was there for most of Bo's tenure) would definitely get the nod over Benjamin Franklin.

A streak of fire, a breath of flame
Eluding all who reach and clutch;
A gray ghost thrown into the game
That rival hands may never touch;
A rubber bounding, blasting soul
Whose destination is the goal — Red Grange of Illinois!

Nothing against Tebow I think he's a great talent but I wouldn't even put him above Tommie Frazier right now for modern times at QB I know Tebow won the heisman (on a team that lost 4 games how often does that happen) but Frazier led NU to 3 straight National title games ( I know he had backup in the 94 season) and he started as a freshman but take solace UF fans Frazier is from bradenton.
