Or Bo Jackson.
As a total package of leadership and play, I'd take Al Wilson. Hell, his leadership even helped us overcome Fulmer's lack thereof.

Herschel Walker didn't play for UT, and I consider him the best college football player that I've ever seen.
Or Bo Jackson.
I give Herschel Walker the nod just because of the QB's he had to play with. Buck Belue might be the worst starting QB on a national championship team of all time.I've had this discussion before and have come to the conclusion there is no "right" answer, just a matter of preference between the two but Bo Jackson was the greatest college football player and athlete I've ever seen.
It comes to fact that Tim Tebow is in fact not the greatest college football player in history like everyone is proclaiming him to be which put a huge smile on my rotten face, haha. Tebow, himself needs to step back and check the stats. Another thing is don't expect a whole lot from the Gators this year as I believe the pressure is too much and they will crack. The best player to ever play college football is simply Red Grange who attended Illinois and played from 1923-1925, so media outlets take a step back and wipe your Tebow sucking mouths off and let reality bite you right in the ass. GO VOLS!!!:dance2:

These comparisons are meaningless because its all subjective. Any effort to objectively identify the best is doomed ot fail because the players being compared played a) different positions; b) against different teams; c) with different players at different times; d) under different rules; e) with different players around them.
About all you can say is that guys like Granger, or Herschel Walker, or Tim Tebow were all better by comparison to their contemporaneous counterparts than were the other players of their time.
Anything else is comparing apples to oranges. Or at least apple slices to apple sauce.
