I cant imagine or even remember a worse ending for such a high profile cfb player. Yet Mccoy took the questions, handled it like a man and didnt CRY uncontrollably like our man Tebow.

Just saying one is a man the other is a drama queen.

Mmmmm... Tebow did not cry during the post-game interviews. Plus, unlike McCoy, when Tebow went down in the Kentucky game he was actually hurt.

Try sleeping on your arm, then after it's gone numb wake up then go try to throw a football. Then say nothing happened to Colt

I think McCoy was really hurt. Give me Tebow's durability over McCoy getting knocked out after one shot.

Tebow's taken dozens of shots from Bama's D over the past two years, yet McCoy is a man for keeping his emotions in check.

Good grief.

My opinion, McCoy could have won just as many titles at UF as Tebow did. Tebow would have had no prayer at TX to win any titles as starting QB, even considering your clever durability argument.

Does anyone else share my ....skepticism? about MCoy's injury last night?

Say it for two reasons. 1) Video of it looks like he didn't take much of a hit at all -- looked like a minimal glancing blow to the tricep, if anything. 2) Post game, UT coach says he could see at half time that MCoy was in great pain and made decision not to play him, whereas MCoy said afterwards there was no pain at all, just numbness.

I dunno, whole thing rather odd to me.

But Tebow didn't go to Texas and McCoy didn't go to Florida, so what's the point?

I'd wager it's pretty hard to throw a football if your arm is numb. I'd liken it to trying to sprint 100 yards while your foot's asleep.

I think he was really injured. The kid waited a year to get to the NC game after getting hosed last season....no way he doesn't play unless he's seriously injured.

You could be right and maybe I dont want to believe it because I really like Mccoy. (my mancrush)

More importantly it wouldnt give me one last time to take a cheap shot at Tebow

I, too, find it difficult to believe he didn't want to play. I mean, I can think of some reasons why, but they seem unlikely to me.

I guess I just wonder if the pressure and the circumstances might have gotten into his head a little.

We'll never know. Just saying based on the replay I am still looking for where he took any sort of a hit that might have caused his arm to go numb for 3 hours.

the first thing i thought when i saw it was "concussion" and a hit like that could easily make your arm go numb for 3 hours.

the point is that you said you'd take Tebow over McCoy due to his durability, which I think is ridiculous. McCoy has been reasonably durable.

He was durable until it mattered.

I'm no Tebow groupie, but his career speaks for itself. McCoy had an incredible career at Texas, but I wouldn't trade him for Tebow's last 4 years. You'd be hard pressed to find any UF fan who would.

Tebow's last 4 years were about his compadres on D and a couple of offensive studs. He was a cog, but at his best, the team didn't get it done. When the D was solid, they did.

I didn't see anything remotely like that. So far can't find it on youtube.

You may well be right. I'll look closer for that when it becomes available.

Yes, but many years ago and very young and I admit of no meaningful personal experience to draw from on it.

I have said only that I am a little skeptical on it. Maybe not even that far. Just found it odd and somewhat dubious.

Why then are so many fans here claiming UF will fall off the map because Tebow is leaving?

I'm not sure what we're even debating anymore.

Tebow > McCoy

It's close, but Tebow has the hardware, team and individual, to show for his 4 years.

Again, McCoy had a GREAT career at Texas, but it's not as though his D helped him out last night. McCoy is no less of a "cog" than Tebow. At his best, against the best D in the land, he took a one-punch knockout.

Sorry, Give me Tebow over him all day every day.

I might add that if the cause was a head injury, what's he doing watching the game from the sidelines and not the ER?

I've never argued that UF will fall off the world because Tebow is leaving. I've argued that his loss will cause a step back, but the D falloff would be the cause of any real deteriorations.

Tebow has hardware, but that's due to the men across the line on his D and a couple of offensive guys now in the NFL. McCoy has individual hardware because he is a very good true college QB.

If I'm building a college football team and running anything but that single wing that UF runs, I wouldn't remotely consider Tebow.
