Ted Cruz

not as pointless as voting for Pat Paulsen, Foster Brooks or Mickey Mouse right?

and it's not pointless if I truly believe he's the best for the job. He could change the system better than anyone else that will be on the ballot. At the very least he would prevent Congress from doing anything stupid which would be a definite improvement

Don't forget Ray Stevens and Larry the Cable Guy.

If you are an emergency room doctor you don't do brain surgery on someone who needs a tourniquet to keep the patient from bleeding to death.

It is a matter of priorities, voting Obama out is the first priority at this point in time.

Electing candidates like Ted Cruz in over establishment Republicans is a step in the right direction.

Voting for Johnson is just wasting a good vote at this point imo.

The problem with that logic is that you end up with Romney in office. Eso no es bueno.

The only halfway convincing case one can make for Romney being better than Obama in office is for Supreme Court nominees.

Not so.

His nomination of Ryan indicates he wants to stop the bleeding of the US Treasury.

The younger people in this nation will be tasked with paying back that debt, is is counterintuitive for them to be voting for more of the same if they are indeed voting in their own best interests.

and that makes me feel much more confident in my vote. Thanks :hi:

I got it, you don't like me.

The feeling is mutual.

Facing up to reality and indulging in pragmatism does have it's merits whether you want to face that fact or not.

In July California collected $500 m less in sales taxes than it had projected, that's a half billion $$ in lost revenues.

The national petroleum council said that oil demand in America in July was at it's lowest for any month since 1995 and July should be a peak demand month because it's the height of the vactation season.

In July unemplowment was up in 44 or the 50 states, (57 if you prefer), it was up in 9 of 10 of the battleground states and broke even in one because of policies enacted by the republican governor.

Obama's plan was so bad he couldn't even get a democrat to vote for it.

The democrats have no plan.

The Ryan plan is the only viable alternative that has even been attempted and is praised even by top democrat economic advisors.

Erskine Bowles says it is sensible, honest and serious.

I don't disagree with any of that. I am just saying, in an election cycle, it much better to be vague than have detail plans. The devil is in the details. Apparently Romney doesn't get that.

He also can't make up his mind of whether he's in favor of Ryan's plan or against it.
