First, let me say that I bleed orange!
I would love to see Tee come back to Tennessee.
Honestly just don't see it happening for the many reasons mentioned in other threads.
My questions are...
1. How long is this recruiting "dead period"?
2. Would shady Lame keep Tee from making his decision until after dead period starts, (not sure how he could keep him from doing that) so that he could, maybe change some minds of current commitments, hint, hint, you all know who I'm talking about.
3. Also, lets say Tee politely declines the offer. How does volnation respond toTee staying out west with Lame.VFL?
I'll hang up and listen to your comments.

3. I don't think he is coming to UT. And I can't blame him. Lane Kiffin gave him a good job when UT wouldn't even talk to him.... not even talk to him to at least explain the situation....the only QB to lead the Vols to a NC in the last 50 years. But, Tee is still a VFL.

If Tee did accept it would be awesome, but I would have a hard time leaving that perfect weather year round.

That's just me though.

Oh God. If you want to join the weather debate see the other thread!

This isn't about Tee being a former player my friend.

This is all about what will make Tee and his family happiest and what they think will be best for his future coaching career.

Tee and his wife will do what they think is best for them and their future despite what all us Tennessee lovers would like to see happen.

I happen to be totally biased on what I'd like to happen especially since I've never liked laMe kiffScum and was happy to see him leave Tennessee.

VFL...GBO!!!

The weather in LA is nice. However, it is not the best place to raise kids. It's not even a decent place to raise kids. With a very slight raise, he would have about 2X+ the spending power in Knoxville, too. It is far from a dead deal ... yet.

For those that are saying Tee is not coming.....you are right. He is not coming back to TN.

I would hate to see how some of our fans will treat him if he doesn't come back. Tee loves UT and all things Orange. I would love for him to come, but people need to understand he is going to do what is best for his family.

Kids from LA turn out just fine. Their schools and environment are no different than TN. You can find just as much dysfunction in Ktown as anywhere else. Amazing how some of you have opinions of certain cities based on nothing. Its about the parents not the city.

Lets not discount the fact that Lanie Poo is kind of on the hot seat. Taking a #1 rankkng early in the year to a 7-5 record, and also losing Daddy as his DC isnt going to help much. With a roster full of 5 stars, USC expects way better than 7-5. Plus, with his superstar (supposedly) staff, I dont see many of those guys in high demand on the HC market or even as coordinators elsewhere.

Tee had to feel like a rockstar all over Ktown yesterday.

Plus he has a son in the Powell area.

COME ON HOME TEE!

Irrespective of Tee taking the job or not, he will be a #VFL. Dool on the other hand, will be a Tool for still killing this program with his antics and not offering TEE earlier.

My questions are...
1. How long is this recruiting "dead period"?
IIRC, Coaches can get back on the road for home visits around the 10th of January, lasting until 2/2. The period from 12/17 - 1/10 is mostly dead period with a few quiet periods thrown in.

2. Would shady Lame keep Tee from making his decision until after dead period starts, (not sure how he could keep him from doing that) so that he could, maybe change some minds of current commitments, hint, hint, you all know who I'm talking about.
I don't think the dead period is late enough to stop a recruit from switching, if they are so inclined. Remember Dools was hired in January and still recruited a couple of players (e.g. James Stone) that were headed elsewhere.

3. Also, lets say Tee politely declines the offer. How does volnation respond to Tee staying out west with Lame.VFL?
It damn well better be with a great deal of respect! The man has to make his own decision, and we ought to respect it either way. Who knows what great opportunities he has on his desk at the moment? (That said, I really hope he comes back!)

Tee probably won't come because his wife wants to dabble in her little career in LA. I believe Tee wants to be here, but she doesn't.

yep that is it, he is not the man of the house.
he got 3 kids here one set of twins.. they now starting to play sports.
He don't want to be here..
He could be a head coach some day much as people like him.

If he don't come I say take down all street signs with his name on them diss own him..

Only f'd up people would treat Tee badly, for not returning. I cannot blame him, after the way he's been treated by the administration.

Plus, he just moved across the country to LA. Now we want him to turn around, and move back? We should've grabbed him while he was at UK.

Tee is a NC QB, a fantastic coordinator, and a VFL who bleeds Orange. I wish him well, wherever he coaches.:peace2:

Tee will come home when he feels the time is right. It may not be now. Just think, let him get his experience from a big program with a good recruiting base and eventually be a oc or hc here.

This all is hard for me to process, i just assumed this was a no brainier for Tee but looks like I was wrong. He belongs in Knoxville imo but I understand he has to make his own decision for his family. If the decision comes down to money I will be upset if he stays at USC for that, we should not be out bid for him. Tee has to know that Kiffin is a sinking ship, he needs to get out now but either way i will always pull for Tee and respect him for what he did for our program. Either way Tee is a VFL and the true Vol fans will always have his back and be thankful for not only what he did for UT but how he did it and how he always carried himself.

What part of Kiffin will be fired next year do you guys not understand?

This is the x factor for Tee....if he sees this coming, then there is a shot to get him.

If he is just looking for a pay raise and a better job description, he met his objective by visting UT. And he got to see his son play bb.

Unfortunately, I am starting to have my doubts that Tee comes back to The Hill. At first, I thought it would be a done deal but, from what I understand, he got a job offer on Saturday, came in on Monday, and it has not been publicly stated whether he will take the job or not. I think if he were going to come, we would have heard by now. On the other hand, the fact that he took the trip yesterday, during the live recruiting period, with his entire family has to show a great deal of interest and I heard the reception he got was great. I hope he comes back but I understand if he makes a decision that is best for his family that does not included Knoxville. I will, however, be bitterly disappointed because I think he, Graham, Thigpen, and Martinez would have provided a solid core of recruiters with experience recruiting in the Southeast and their developed relationships and this core would provide some stability as CBJ, etc., get their feet wet and develop their own networks. I am not saying that CBJ and the rest of the staff cannot recruit down here but I do think it will take some time to get in the groove, especially in developing a network with high school coaches, etc., and having those four coaches on staff would have eased the transition.

Where can he get the best path toward becoming an OC, then a HC? That is for Tee to decide. If he comes here now he probably will not be staying here. He will move on to a better oppotunity. Would love for him to come, but let's stay real about his long term future. It probably helps CBJ more than it helps Tee.

Toya's career, or lack thereof, is not a factor.
