Tee Higgins and Amari Rogers stock is falling

For the college ranks, a guy who can run for 200 in an NFL game is elite. When talking about brown, he's essentially trying to say he didn't deserve to be a 5 star. If he's talented enough to run for 178 yards in an NFL game, he's an elite college prospect and deserved to be a 5*

You're jumping back and forth there! Based on his COLLEGE PERFORMANCE, he didn't "deserve" 5 * status. One impressive game in the NFL doesn't translate unrealized potential into elite status. Even if he had managed to scrap together more than a two year NFL career that wouldn't have changed what he DIDN'T DO in college. Chris Donald was a 5 star and didn't perform...same with Daniel Brooks. They weren't elite.

I'm not saying anything illegal. What I mean is an effort to help get him an ACT practice session and go around his schedule. Put forth that extra effort to help when other kids probably wouldn't get that "above and beyond" assistance. More a "you're on your own" as opposed to "let's see how we can get you the help you need".

Practice tests and sessions are normally available for all students that want to use them.

You're right, I guess I'm ok with insulting other schools after they get recruits that we want, it's the VN way.......their star will fade, they're cheating, they're paying recruits, didn't want him anyway, etc.

We can insult other schools anytime. I insult Kentucky all the time and we have beaten them something like 31 out of the last 32 years.

Probably got what I deserved on this thread. No reason to call that poster out like I did. My apologies

Appreciate you taking ownership. I have made some posts in here that I am not so proud of. At the end of the day, I still believe that we are all fans.

2017 Under Armour: Stock up, stock down

Stock Down

-Oak Ridge (Tenn.) High WR Tee Higgins: There was a lot of hype for the nationÂ’s No. 17 overall prospect per 247Sports but the 6-foot-4.5, 188-pound receiver did not look like a five-star during the week. The Clemson commit was relatively quiet while other, lower-ranked pass-catchers consistently made big plays.

-Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic WR Amari Rodgers: The Clemson pledge is on the shorter side at 5-foot-9.5 but weighs 221 pounds. He does not seem as fast on the field as some of the other slot receivers in the game. He can make plays but, as the current No. 84 player in the country by 247Sports, it seems his ranking is a bit high.

Rodgers weighs 221? At 5'9?....wth? He a WR or a fullback?

Clemson likes WR with RB skills for one of their WR postions. It's smart for what they do and what we do with short passes to kids you want to make plays.

Seems like since these two been on Clemson train they let the hype get to their head a bit

What's funny is that if either or both of these kids were UT commits, they're be flaming couches across the Hill after this article was published.

Whether they turn out to be duds or NFL first-rounders doesn't matter. They aren't coming to UT. Let it go.

I know I've taken heat from some previous posts where I might have been a little aggressive in my attitude toward these two young men and their decisions. I stand behind my previous posts tho. I know we get recruits from Georgia, Florida, etc., etc., and I know Tennessee recruits go elsewhere, but we don't get many--or any--from Tuscaloosa, Athens, Gainesville, etc.

The thought these two guys grew up in Knoxville, were nurtured and hoped for by Knoxville and UT people, and then slapped their face by choosing a very possible future opponent to represent, is just too much for me.

Sorry, I don't care who these two self- absorbed players are playing against--I'm for the other team.

Says the guy that misses dooley

Both LSU and UT withdrew their offers to Lacy because he didn't have the core nor was he even close on the ACT. Like magic Alabama swooped in and by the end of the school year he had both easily. Figure that one out.

BJ Emmons is the most recent case of Bama getting a 'special' waiver for a kid that couldn't academically qualify.

Anyone think that the local academic support treated him from star to regular student after his shenanigans with decommitting?

No, Oak Ridge High teachers want one of their own to be a D1 player, it's been awhile for them.

You think our 2 and 3 star recruits are going to pass them in the rankings?

My crystal ball is missing, so I can't answer. But if that report is true, our two and three star guys might get drafted, while they give you a choice of paper or plastic.

Didn't Butch say when he was hired that all top in state players would be coming to UT and it would be his top priority to keep them in state?

Yes, but he can't do anything for guys who can't pass academic standards. Your priority must be to ask dumb questions without considering the obvious circumstances.

I am honestly not surprised and saw this coming. Seen Rodgers in person and he wasn't even the best WR on the field, granted the others were college commits. As for Higgins, he is smooth and has hands, but looks a bit soft and a tad slow. I think the fame has gone to his head a bit. Still a good player, but needs a wake up call that it wont be handed to him all because some sites have him as a 5*. Truth is he looks more like a low 4* to mid 4*.

But my opinions don't count anyways because I'm a vol fan..
