Tempo-Free Predictions for 2012-2013

I haven't seen it posted either way.

I thought it was gonna be 16 and the 18 game was for future. I don't know really though maybe it is 18.

Seems that's something a coach would need to know definitely though. I mean if it's 18 you don't want 16 OOC games scheduled but if its 16 then 16 OOC is ok. Seems like the number should already be decided.

My thoughts too, but I still haven't seen it finalized anywhere.

Not finalized and this is just Pennington running his mouth, but the first paragraph says that, what I would call sources are saying, next year will be an 18 game conference slate. TIFWIW

That'd explain the lack of OOC games being discussed.

Oakland, Memphis, virgina, +3(puerto Rico)...that's 6 good OOC games, add probably 3 or 4 instate schools and 1 or 2 other mid majors and there's your schedule.

The Big East challenge is in there somewhere too.

I thought we were done with playing against Oakland, this year was the last year of the home and home series.

That's what I was saying, a home away and home.

I was thinking COC was also but wasn't sure.

Sorry, Missed the second "home" on your first post. Yeah your right on Oakland. I am pretty sure on CoC as well. Rarely does a high major play a straight up home/away with a lower tier school. And these were scheduled coming off the elite 8 season. So, I would assume UT gets both of them at TBA this year.

No specifics but I think I heard Martin confirm it on the radio (John and jimmy show) that UT was going to play in it.

Ok so yea there's most of your schedule:

Memphis, Oakland, COC, Virginia, 3 in puerto Rico, BE/SEC, and probably 4 state schools/ mid majors, plus 18 game conference schedule and there's your 30 game schedule.

For some reason NC State rings a bell.(yes I know we play them in football this year). Are they in the Puerto Rico tip-off?

if they get amille jefferson I think they're possibly top 5.

losing deshaun painter hurt them. he was a fantastic bench player.

also, I think tyler harris' little brother is transferring too

I'm hoping thy land Jefferson and UK doesn't.

Painter does hurt them, but Jefferson would help ease that.

I saw that about Harris, but then heard it was just a rumor, so who knows. If he wants to transfer I think hed be a great pickup for us. I think he showed much more upside then most originally thought. And seeing as how we need post guys next class he'd be welcomed with open arms here, much needed position.

I agree. The little bit he played for them, he definitely showed good potential. He's a very solid rebounder and is athletic enough to defend on the perimeter. he's just very lacking in his offensive skill-set

He supposedly has been working hard this off season on adding weight and muscle too, so I think he'll definitely be a solid PF wherever he plays.

We could definitely use him, an I'd say probably will be in the running if he chooses to leave though. What I heard was if Leslie returned then his chance of transferring increased, also if Jefferson picks NC ST. If Leslie had left then it appeared as though Harris would stay, but Leslie is returning so I guess well see.

This is probably a dumb question, but if he wants to transfer here, we'd have to have a scholarship for him this year even though he's not playing, right? Or would he not count against our total?
