3 games ago Tennessee was beat by 44 points. Even Dooley came close to beating LSU, it doesn't mean a thing.

Both posts above me are over reactions. It doesn't mean we are back but it also means more than nothing.

We are playing well no doubt.

Op would you kindly remove your foot from your mouth? Still think we're playing well, just emotions killed us at the goal line

But, Go Vols!!! Right, govols876?

Since I entered school at UT, I have never seen them beat Florida.

I'm still around and still cheering, but it doesn't mean I will naively look at a competitive game and claim the program is back when it clearly not.

If Pig loses control of that ball a few inches later it is a touchdown.

Are our players any lesser men today because he didn't?

We look nothing like any of the Dooley teams. Our play calls were amazing.

I have been very critical of this staff but they really stepped up and called a great game today (both sides of the ball). Also very proud that the team didn't quit when they were behind. Slightly disappointed regarding few unnecessary penalties (especially the one at the end that gave them first down inside our 10 - but that was emotion and we should not fault or single out anyone for the loss today - especially not Pig who was awesome). Perhaps the biggest positive was Worley who looked composed - it's a great sign going forward.

Posts like these make me mad. It does mean something, it means this team and coach know how to give the effort needed to win.

We looked like a decent football team--but, yea, think about it: These kind of brutal losses typified the Dooley years; came close several times and lost the all. The sad irony is that our anemic offense came through big-time in the fourth quarter--and then our defense couldn't get it done. Refs had nothing to do with the outcome--don't go there. Our defense didn't get it done--period.

Some people are so blind when it comes to the on field product.....PLAIN AND SIMPLE THIS IS A MUCH BETTER TEAM THAN ANY THING DOOLEY PUT ON THE FIELD. Dooley had many more atheletes and couldn't win. Give this staff some of those atheletes and TN would be 5-1 now. Team is improving every game.

This game was very similar to Dooley's LSU game (it was also early in his UT career and he did not have his own players at that time either - so I give Dooley and his staff a lot of credit for that game and also Butch and his staff deserve a lot of credit for how they called the game tonight - very gutsy going for all those 4th and 1 in the second half and execution was excellent). It was horrible luck to lose in both cases - it really felt like we deserved both of those games (Dooley's NC bowl game was similar as well).

ps May as well add Kiffin's Bama game to this list
