its not fair to the fans or the sport. waiting 8 months to see these games is horrible. Would much rather play UNC, UCLA, and Florida state or MiamiAnd absolutely necessary if UT is going to rebuild the program. They need all four of those wins.
The disappointing part is LSU and Bama being stacked together and the position of the bye week.
Pittsburgh is a fun city, lots of great food, museums, etc. Playing college football off campus is always a minus in my opinion but Heinz Field is a good venue.Last 3 games will be crucial to the success of the season.
The trip to Pitt could be fun. I've heard it's a nice city.

So you would rather subject a rebuilding program to a likely loss than help build it with winnable games? Of all the things UT needs right now... adding an "unwinnable" OOC game isn't one of them.its not fair to the fans or the sport. waiting 8 months to see these games is horrible. We aren’t scared of anyone. And we have been better than Memphis because we actually play a real schedule not some AAC CUSA joke of one. They are nothing and always will beWe lost to Georgia State and had 3 losing seasons since 2014. What makes you think Memphis wouldn't have a winning record against us since? Are you scared of them like you are Army?
I dont consider any of those aSo you would rather subject a rebuilding program to a likely loss than help build it with winnable games? Of all the things UT needs right now... adding an "unwinnable" OOC game isn't one of them.
UT can and apparently will get back to higher caliber OOC games soon enough. The addition of OU and Texas may also eliminate an OOC contest and make us glad that we have 3 cupcakes.
UT does no worse and often better in that regard than most of the SEC. UGA plays GT and uses that routinely as an excuse not to play anyone else of merit.I dont consider any of those a
games "likely losses" and I would rather see a game that matter rather than watch a game agaisnt Akron and ball state that do nothing.
Georgia has played Norte dame in 2019 and Clemson this season along with playing Georgia techUT does no worse and often better in that regard than most of the SEC. UGA plays GT and uses that routinely as an excuse not to play anyone else of merit.
UF is easily the lamest in that regard. They use FSU as their excuse to essentially play no one. Their last 3 OOC schedules not counting the all SEC '20 schedule:
2018
Charleston Southern FCS
Colorado St- 3-9
Idaho FCS
FSU 5-7
2019
Miami 6-7
UTM FCS
Towson FCS
FSU 6-7
2021
FAU currently 2-1
USF currently 1-2
Samford FCS
FSU currently 0-3
Those games btw "do something". They give UT wins AND opportunities to work up to better and eventually elite opponents. I think you've often talked about "where the program is" in a negative light. Continuing to post losses in "big games" will continue to hurt recruiting which will continue to keep the program "where it is". Those games though they may be boring to you give UT opportunity to win while developing guys and winning recruits.
I'm seeing 8 wins.
ball
pitt is a revenge game with a year of recruiting
akron
lsu is shambles rn. they will be down next year
ut Martin
KY should be a win every year
SPLIT mizz/SC
CANDY
that's a totally resonable 8.
What a damn joke of a schedule. Apparently the administration believes that the only path forward to a winning record is to schedule the worst possible opponents in the nation.Sept 3- Ball State
Sept 10- @ Pitt
Sept 17- Akron
Sept 24- Florida
Oct 1- Bye
Oct 8- @ LSU
Oct 15- Alabama
Oct 22- UT-Martin
Oct 29- Kentucky
Nov 5- @ UGA
Nov 12- Mizzou
Nov 19- @ South Carolina
Nov 26- @ Vanderbilt
