Tennessee and the craziest November in SEC history?

Say Texas, LSU, and Tennessee win out. Who goes to SEC title game?
LSU and Texas.

The first tie-breaker (head to head results among the tied teams) doesn't apply, because none of us played each other.

The second tie-breaker (record vs common conference opponents) eliminates the Vols -- the 4 opponents common to UT, Tex, and LSU are OK, Arky, FL, and Vandy. We've lost to one of those (Arky), but the other two haven't.

So we need Bama to take out LSU.

Go Vols!

A team that goes into Athens and beats Georgia is NOT losing to Vanderbilt with an SECCG and playoff appearance on the line. That’s absolute nonsense.

Now if we go to Athens and get whipped and pack the season in….yes it’s possible to lose to Vanderbilt.

I wish I could have that same sort of confidence. We very well COULD beat Georgia and then lay an egg with Vandy. We do headscratchers like that every year. But Vandy's not a gimme anymore, they're actually a well coached team, and truth be told even when they sucked they always get up for us.

Seems like overall record would factor in since LSU has 2 losses

Events that take place outside the conference have no bearing on determining the conference rankings.

So LSU's early-season loss to USCw hurts them in their attempt to get into the CFP, but has no bearing on whether they get to Atlanta. By design.

Go Vols!

Someone explain to me how Georgia is “super beatable” at home with the Vols road struggles. It is possible but it’s not nearly as likely as many people are making it seem.

Their schedules the next 2 games are easy and all they have to do is beat Texas at home which is totally possible that TAMU team is good at home. They and LSU have the easiest chance of all to be a 1 loss SEC team. Their loss to ND doesn't count toward making it to the SECCG.
Ain no easy SEC games

I should have figured this would have been the response. It's a solid well though out post but thin skinned people can't handle hearing things they don't like 😂
Well 'thought' out enough to claim Alabama a one loss team in SEC play. Vandy? Tennessee?
Check the schedule.

So far, even on the road, our defense/special teams has dominantly FORCED every team we have played into a grinding slow battle. After watching UGA play UK and UF and pretty much every team so far, I like us to do the same to them even in Athens. Now, can our offense generate enough to win the game? I'm not sure. Barring injuries next week, I do like our chances this year vs the previous 10.

In this scenario Texas has same record against common opponents....

I think we'd be above them in playoff rankings at that point
Texas, like LSU, would have a 4-0 record against our common opponents: FL, Vandy, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

The Vols would be 3-1. We'd be odd man out, according to Tie-breaker #2.

So we need Bama to beat LSU, take them out of the equation. So that this 3-way tie could not come to pass.

We need things in the SEC to come down to the winner of Vols-UGa versus the winner of A&M-Texas.

Go Vols!
