And have you watched a single game this season? The improvement is pretty damn insane. Shoulda beat Fla but Jones tried to get cute, pretty much beat UGA, and we beat SCjr. after looking downright awful in a couple contests.

Well, that's one way to look at it...another way would be to say it was an exceptional effort catch, even another way would be to say that despite the obvious PI, he still managed to secure the football. (all with one arm tied behind his back)

But I'm sure you already looked at it from those perspectives and, in your infinite wisdom, concluded that it had to be luck.

Wouldn't call McCarron overrated, and the schedule is indeed suspect.
But if Bama does reach the NCG, Oregon will take them apart.

I have no illusions about this game, but one thing is for certain, the days of just bending over for Bama before the game even starts are over. This team won't care about the scoreboard, they are just going to go out there and smack them in the mouth for 60 minutes. Regardless of the outcome, I suspect Bama is going to remember this game. This won't be the regular 45-0 creampuffs they have faced most of the year.

Get ready for war fellas.

Very thorough analysis. One point which I believe that they neglected to address is the following quarter-by-quarter breakdown of scoring:

Tennessee 72 59 41 41 0 213
Opponents 33 70 55 28 3 189 (UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics - Football).

Again, the Oregon game skewed this data somewhat, since they scored 28 points in the second quarter. However, if we can avoid deadly turnovers and big plays that give 'bama a sizable lead early and put us in bad play-calling situations, we actually have been at our best defensively in the fourth quarter. Once again, that should be our foremost objective: keep this game close going into the 4th quarter and then, hopefully, our intensity, conditioning and execution can win the day.

If we play like we have the past 2 games against them, then yes we have a chance. I still don't think they have played against a defense as good as ours is. The numbers get skewed real bad with the Oregon game but if you take it out of the equation then our defense is actually not bad at all.

Just for the record, I think Oregon and Florida State would both beat Bama on a neutral field.

My major concern all season for this game is the ability of bama to curb stomp us. Will the Vols go out there out fight hard...yes been doing it since last year. Thing is that imo Saban could have made things worse on us, but out of his friendship with Dooley he hadn't. If CBJ can't keep it a close game I think Saban will unleash it on us. He needs to keep UT down, and him doing it could hurt our chances of success going into some really tough following weeks. The uscjr win can only go so far.
