Tennessee at Auburn - Game 3 Thread - 2 PM

The bigger issue is that I am not sure he would be leaving the next coach in any better shape than Raleigh left the program for him.

Right now, my mind is more concerned about the kids playing in the field. How will this effect them? Still ball to be played...not giving up on these kids...no way.

It's an issue but at what point do you say enough? This was about as big of a gut punch of a series as you can get.

Auburn isn't even very good, making it one of the few series we play that we SHOULD win, not hope to win. Then we kill them game 1, setting a great tone. Then lose game 2, only to jump up 5-0 in game 3 and then blow it.

This team simply does not know how to win consistently.

Right on Roller. They have not given up in any game this year, so I will not give up on them.

Go Vols!

I understand. Can't say he hasn't been given a fair amount of time or that Tennessee has not been patient.

I just hate situations where a new guy comes in and you know he's going to be kicked in the teeth for 2 to 3 years.

But, as you said, at what point is enough, enough. If it ain't getting better, it ain't getting better.

Good on ya'...no, they didn't and we ain't giving up either...heck, who knows what could happen...gotta believe in something, right...so I choose...THE BIG ORANGE BASEVOLS!...those kids deserve it...

EDIT: I had to come back and say this...not gonna get into any "new coach" discussion with anyone...games still to be played...carry on...:)

GO BIG ORANGE!

I hate when that happens to but Serrano has had 5 years he took his licks but he got a good player hear or there but he has not adressed our pitching at all he should be able to recruit stud pitchers and he just hasn't!!! So it's time for a new guy to take what he has now and in 5 years have a stud team but it will take them going after a guy that is a winner in the south!!!

I'm on the fence really, because there is the rational part of me that says if Serrano can't get it done here, I'm not sure there are many that can.

But like I said, if you can't get your team to win this series, there is something seriously wrong. We can talk all day about how close we are and how we almost beat SC, but none of that matters if you lose to teams you should beat.

Serrano isn't getting it done because for the first 3 years he thought he was going to small ball his way through this league and his players he recruited were meant for that instead of going with power and pitchers with speed!

I say load up on Juco guys like South Carolina did to help out....this reminds me of butch early years the talent seems there just cannot get over that cliff....for some reason

guess I'll have to drink a few extra tonight to ease the pain...:)

Yep. Triple cask Balvenie seems to take some of the sting away. Not sure how I'll feel and approach the rest of the season. Can't really give up on the kids so I'll finish the race. After the season, I'll see what happens with DS. I'm going to be honest...I'm torn on what to do. One part of me says fire him. Another screams keep the guy because if he can't win here, I have to ask who can? It's as if UT baseball is a corpse and no amount of CPR will breathe life back into it. The entire athletic department seems shot to hades. Some promise in football, but I'll believe the hype surrounding them when I see them lift the SEC trophy overhead in Atlanta.

Just get to Atlanta for football. I wouldn't say the expectation should be to win the SEC because that could mean playing Bama twice.

great post and rational too! I'm right there with you, not sure if anyone can get the ball rolling anytime soon. Yes, it is cyclical and we will be back, but it may be a while. Whats frustrating is we are so damn close...
