Vols win! Once again they show no quit. Neely and Crochet both pitched well, so glad a win came out of it.

Now, just win the series next weekend.

That just can't happen.

And I hate to say it, but that's not a talent thing. Coaching should eliminate stuff like that.

Santiago stepped out before the 1-2 pitch and told the infield he was not throwing down. Let the runner go. That is what I was just told fro someone that was in the dugout. Not the coaches fault.

Andre had is hands up and was yelling at Santiago after the throw, seemed like Santiago just missed the play, can't have that from a senior with a month to go in the season

Question.

How many times has Benito either thrown down, or a pitcher gets the runner caught up in a run down...and nobody covers the bag?

It happened at least twice in this series that I know of and seems to happen every week. It about cost us this game. I don't know if it's a communication thing or what, but I agree with 99, that shouldn't be happening this late in the season.

First -- that is stupid, you never let the tying run get into scoring position without challenging it. Second, doesn't explain wth is going on elsewhere as every little league team in American would have prevented that guy from advancing past third.

If Santiago stepped out and said that - someone on the bench and staff should have been up screaming.

The center fielder should have been replaced and should still be running - he can uber home to Knoxville - would not have him riding the bus with real baseball players. ( Note : didn't see what happened - only commenting based on what was posted here. :) )

I should say my previous comment was based on listening to Wilkerson, I didn't actually see the play. Let me put it this way...

It was the least enthusiastic "This is Tennessee Baseball" I have EVER heard.

Yeah, alcohol is not an alternative when it comes to Tennessee baseball, or most sports these days, it is a necessity.

Absolutely! The University should capitalize on it too. :p

After a few years of clamoring and complaining about televising all the games...today I realized how much I miss listening to Wilkerson. He's great.

Crochet threw well again this weekend. I think the break from Friday night starts has helped him to settle down a little. That was a good move. I’m not sure I wouldnt do the same thing with Stallings this coming weekend. He has struggled for three straight weeks now. 25 runs, 18 earned in three starts. Maybe Crochet on Fri, Neely on Sat, Hunley on Sunday. Give stallings a breather. He is well over 70 innings anyway....

Wow...I'm watching the game from today, just to get caught up. During a break, I checked the box scores from this weekend's games and realized...Lingo didn't even pitch this weekend.

He threw 85 or so pitches mid week. How could he pitch this weekend.

Yeah, some young guys got in, but no lingo.

Gotcha, I missed the midweek game...that explains that...don't know why he's pitching midweek though. Thx!

It feels like he has fallen out of the mix the last couple of weekends. I don’t remember him throwing a ton last weekend. Crochet did the heavy lifting along with Wallace.

I know it was mid-week, but 8 K's in 4 innings, it's perplexing on the Lingo front.

There it is...it's way worse on video than on the radio...that was HS crap. 1 strike away...unbelievable.

We are so lucky to have won that game, the Baseball gods were kind to us today.

lol, wow!
