Tennessee Basketball....#10 on rivals for 09-10 season

Kentucky will probably crack the top 25 next year, we'll have to see the recruiting class and what happens with Meeks first. If Tyler Smith leaves, I will be shocked if Tennessee is in the top 25 for very long, if at all. I would have to look closer at some of the SEC rosters to make a call on any of them. I am positive that if Andy Kennedy's boys can stay healthy they can crack the rankings.

Kentucky is going to do much more than just crack the top 25.

Based on the "for better or worse" quip at the end, I'd say they're not very confident with their pick. :)

I agree, I would like to see their recruiting class and what happens with Meeks before trying to make any more specific predictions, though.

Yep. I expect Wall and Meeks to be playing for them next season, but if the right things happen and they somehow don't then Cal will have his work cut out.

Doubt it. I'd bet that Wall will not be at UK 3 out of 4 times.

:lolabove:

remember in the cal press conf when he said he would push his players on and off the court lol at that. he will push wall to go to class about as hard as he did rose. one and done. go to class one time and done. play one year and done.

If USC returns their team intact, they are Top 5 material.

bad news for usc, their team wont stay intact. derozan, hacket, and gibson have all just declared that they will be declaring for the nba draft. derozan is the only one that said he may not get an agent, and said he is 50-50 right now on getting an agent. looks like usc wont be top 5, or probably top 25 next year.

Gibson has not decided if he will hire an agent. If he returns and SC signs Lamont Jones, they are still a top 25 team.

#10?? I thought that UT got shafted with a 9-seed in the tourney, but there's no way we looked like we would turn into a top 10 team over the off-season.

Outside of udub and ucla, the pac is going to be weak, esp. with both arizona's losing their top talent. USC, even with losing derozan and hackett should still find their way into the top 3 there, and that alone likely lands them in the top 25.

Yeah...us being anywhere near even the top-25 is a complete joke at this point. I don't understand how they could put us at 10. Like another post said, even the biggest UT homer wouldn't have us at #10.

Let's be honest: it's a sporting website that uses this article to put forth speculation, and if we're just seeking a list to affirm and nod our heads at, then what's the point of any such things anyhow? It exists solely to generate discussion and keep fans clicking through during the giant stretch of downtime that is the post-tournament time.

Given that a 3 page thread exists on a front page sorely lacking with 'content', I'd say they performed their task quite well.

that said, it's bizarre to put UT at 10 and then add as commentary a notice of the best player leaving and a jab at the returning players staying on. You could make an interesting(if ultimately doomed) case for them at 10, but to simply put them there and then note only negatives is a bit strange.

I feel that they're saying that if we are playing at our best, we are a top 10 team...At best we're in the top 10, at worst, we're a 9 seed...It all depends on which team shows up next year. Do we get the team that runs through the SEC tourney, or the one that loses in the final to Mississippi State?
