Hey, it's a natural herb. If it can help people, why not?:)

How many states have it legalized for medical use? Doesn't California? And....Oregon?

california did it and anyone willing to pay $250 to see a doctor on venice beach can get a card. they might as well legalize it completely and tax the crap out of it.

They should legalize it but until the government realizes that they can make more money on it being legal as opposed to illegal, its not going to happen.

Its all about money.

I saw a CNBC special and part of it focused on some county in Cali. that had legalized the growing for "personal use". Man those folks must smoke a bag a day to use all they were growing.

Basically weed growing has taken over the town.

I'm all for decriminalizing or legalizing it. Maybe making it legal for everyone to grow their own would lower the incidents of major growers/dealers and the crime that follows.

Don't forget the opposition from the Beer, Wine and Spirits groups.

Plus, weed smokers have a hard time organizing...oh man, I thought we were getting together next week. Hey, pass the Funyuns. What were we talking about?

I seen this show had a disgruntled citizen appearing before the town council discussing his neighbors selling weed and growing it. The council was like your neighbors and the state of California do not agree with you Mr....

Could legalization lead to loss of jobs....Something to think about.

How much would it effect the workload for law enforcement?

Do you think we should avoid simplification of the tax code because it might lead to high unemployment of IRS agents charged with collecting and enforcing current tax policy?

If there is a big effect on the workload for law enforcement, you could call it a 'jobs creation bill' :)

I would rather our law enforcement concentrate on real crime instead of pot heads and checking to see if I bucked my seat belt.

nope, we've spent years telling our kids it's not good. now suddenly it will be good since the government says it's ok.

I doubt the government is going to endorse it...kind of like alcohol (which is 1,000 times more dangerous)...The government doesn't go around telling kids to drink alcohol....We are not talking about how moral or immoral it is...we are talking about letting joe blow smoke a 20 sack without being considered a criminal.

Let people grow it if they want to for personal use, won't bother me. What I don't want it to end up like is that country in California where everyone is growing it more or less commercially. Put a limit on what people can lawfully grow for their own use. If someone wishes to pursue marijuana growth as a commercial endeavor they must be do so in an area zoned for commercial agriculture and avoid those who don't want their kids exposed to it.
