Tennessee considering legalizing marijuana for medical purposes

If there is a big effect on the workload for law enforcement, you could call it a 'jobs creation bill' :)

I would rather our law enforcement concentrate on real crime instead of pot heads and checking to see if I bucked my seat belt.

Legalize Marijuana and prostitution, and let the cops concentrate on real crime.:clapping:

Legalize prostitution, 90% of your gov't official use brothels. Heck, there is a fancy dancy one just one block away from the state house in Ohio.

All for it. Allow us to puchase wine in grocery stores and on Sunday as well, it's a joke you can't do it already.

How marijuana has managed to stay illegal for this long is laughable.

Is there a difference between legalization and decriminalization?

I have not heard one credible argument as to why it should be illegal in any sense of the word. It is downright laughable it is illegal and alcohol and tobacco aren't.

I think most will agree on the idea itself, this all changes when it comes to how it will be implemented.

I know a lot of Bible Thumpers that would fight this idea till Doomsday. Some of these people still hate alcohol sales and still keeps me from buying on Sundays.

What a disaster this would be, anyone who thinks weed is harmless is in need of help...can you imagine how many people would just be walking around stoned? Driving stoned? Working stoned?

I hope it doesn't get passed, I actually hope they make the punishment harsher.

nope, we've spent years telling our kids it's not good. now suddenly it will be good since the government says it's ok.

That's right. Every parent I know, including my wife and I, goes out his way to teach his kids that drinking and smoking are fun and keys to lifelong success.

yeah because it's oh so hard to get already. lots of people don't show up to work drunk or drive drunk. i do like walking around drunk sometimes though.

What would this do random drug testing? I know I wouldn't feel comfortable working on a job site around people operating machinery who might be stoned or drunk for that matter.

I think the marijuana, if I read other things correctly, would be limited to those who meet certain standards. I don't think one would have to be terminally ill to get the weed, but would need to be in a state that would "demand it"

All you need is a doctor to say that's the case. In California the paper that states you "demand it" are for sale.
