Joe is the same player he has always been. Quite a few of us were able to convince ourselves that this year would be different for Joe-but it wasn't.

He's the same guy good and bad who opened the season under center in 2021. Good enough to beat the cupcakes and a few bottom of the barrel SEC teams but that's where it ends.

Not the mans fault that we allowed ourselves to believe his skill to be greater than it is. I wish Joe the best in whatever comes next for him
He improved pretty dramatically from his first year here. Now that’s not saying much but he still improved.

I'm taking Candy and those points.
Vanderbilt is not that much better than Connecticut. They are 2-9 and their 2 wins are against Hawaii and Alabama A&M.

I'm not a sports bettor anyway, but if I were, I think I'd sit this one out. We could win by 14. We could win by 50.

Nope. Nope. He was protected from eclipsing 4 game max to protect his reshirt. It stayed in the closet for jawga. Now he can bring it out for vandee and bowling outing.
The whole redshirt angle is silly to me if that’s really what Hype was doing. If the kid is as good as billed, he won’t be here four years anyway. If I’m a coach, I’m always playing to win here and now and worry about roster management later.

That's why you're the coach and not Heupel. Apply for the job. Think now! Think. He plays Nico earlier and he gets bombed/ hurt/underperformed. Now you go back to Milton with potential headcase issues. Now he plays even worse or teammates aren't behind him. So Navy or transfer that followed Heupel from UCF. QB room isn't so easy. Look at Texas and all those minutes Arch Manning has (not)played. We'll look to see you on the sidelines next year. May not like the redshirt game, but it is what it is. Nico doesn't appear mad. Haven't seen statements from parents demanding he play like a former Vol basketball player. He transferred to Louisville and stayed a non-entity. Just perhaps there was a prior conversation with Nicos family of a plan. Just saying Coach..

No need to be a smart@$$ about it. How many times have we seen coaches leave elite talent on the bench, to our detriment, only to put them in way late and have them perform extremely well? A lot. Jamal Lewis, Kamara, Josh Dobbs, the list goes on for miles over the years. There was also a vastly more proven and capable QB in Quinn Ewers ahead of Arch Manning. Two completely different sets of circumstances, just in case you didn’t notice...coach. I do think Nico needed time to put on more weight and spend time learning. Point is Nico likely won’t be here all that long and it was important to get him some live action where he could. Nico could blow out a knee on the first play of the season next year. No, you don’t throw him in against Bama, FLA, UGA, but we had other opportunities for him to get experience and we passed. Hey, if they had those conversations with Nico and mom and dad, then fine, I’m good with it. My understanding is they all love it here.

Sorry for being a smart alec....just seems some folks, apparently, think they know more than coaches and their philosophy. Have a rootin' tooting Gobbler day!
