ESPN is just trying to manufacture some controversy so that more people tune in & they get their ratings up. No big deal IMO.

Right on guys... Thanks for the opinions! I figured it was a ratings ploy.

I was just watching ESPN and saw a commercial for the ESPN-U signing day special and they said "tune in for the conclusion of the Tennessee-Florida controversy". I didn't realize there was any going on between us and UF. Are they talking about Chaz Green? Somebody please enlighten me!! Very curious!

Oh context, we never knew you.

Was this a new promo, and did they actually use the term controversy? They've been promoting their signing day special for weeks now, and the only promo that I've seen says "...uncertainty at SEC stalwarts Tennessee and Florida." That's after mentioning coaching changes as Notre Dame and USC, so I think the message is pretty clear.

Espn has prolly talked a bunch of Gators into throwing UT hats before they commit. Expect to see Vols hats in front of definite Gators on Wednesday, and the commentators to talk about the 'shock' that they picked Florida.

I hope you're kidding. I'm so sick of fans at every school saying that espn hates them.

Do they? I think Espn hates TN. The Lady Vol logos, having Finebaum on as the 'UT grad'... I mean, the fact that they even found Finebaum is pretty remarkable, but to try to dress him up as the UT opinion, despite Woody Paige's daily appearances on the network, is pretty ballsy. As for the Titans, you'll never see a 10-0 team get less publicity. Same for a 2,000 yard rusher. Why do you think there are never the just amount of Titans in the pro-bowl? No highlights is why. Are you sick of people saying the sky is blue, too?

ESPN was referring to the coaching questions (ie. How the Vols CDD would do in the limited amount of time he was given before signing day and how UF's class will wrap up with CUM supposedly starting a leave of absence).
