i did read the post and you said you don't know if the product is worth it... it's a sad condition but UT is far from the only school setting up this kind of system... that has nothing to do with NeYland being the big house of the south or not.. a 5-6 season has a lot to do with that.. if you got the cash man, you gotta keep it... that's all i'm saying. but don't say the product isn't worth it.. 40 yrs of UT football you shouldn't question that

When the owner of the season tickets I used to use passed away a few years ago we weren't even given the option of renewing them. The University took them and gave them to someone else. My family had been in those seats since before I was born. We got new seats, but they aren't nearly as good. The games really haven't been the same since.

i understand they were my dads tickets ill make up
my mind by march. but i know my dad or mom would
not want me to spend that much money on season
tickets. my dad gave 37 years of his life to ut.he
retired in 1982 pass away in 1984.my mom carried
them ever since.i wont be forced into giving a
donation that should come from the hart.makes
me wonder how all the scalpers get ten's of thousands of tickets.what kind of donation are they
giving.

You think someone who has been a fan for 40 years would know that it is Neyland and not neland.:dunno:

I can understand not being happy with the donation issue, but if you are making your decision based on the "product," I am unable to understand. We aren't going to have the best product every year. Wish we were. But I would hope most fans wouldn't give up the tix based on the "product."

One would think with millions of dollars being donated, tuition rates rising around 2/3 times the cost of living, they would cut some slack somewhere.Oh, thats right, someone has to pay for the renovation cost, etc.I know corporate buys the boxes, but still. The need for greed.

like i said man, you originally talked about the product quality issue, that's what got me.. Believe me, I'm a poor grad student who's not quite sure how I make all my payments sometimes (haven't missed one yet!), so i fully understand the payment issue... I would take the tickets over the TV, but that's just me

statman, yes UT football will be over for you...if you don't pay the money. It will not be over if you do. Sounds like you just created a thread so everyone would put in their two cents and help you make up your mind for you.

well they do have what they call mini packages
3 game in the nosebleed for a 250.00 donation
the games would be mtsu, slippry rock, mississippi state. or somthing like that on a yearly basis.

well anyway ive only missed 4 games in forty years
and i gave a kentuck friend that game this year.

thanks for the feedback.

His point is not about money, or UT's record or any of that. His point is they have had season tickets in hte family for 40 years. Those tickets, with all his contributions over the years cannot pass on to him without paying out the "tranfer" fee to keep them in the family. Then, his kids will have to and so on. It's a bogus set up.

umm, he did say he didn't know if the product was worth it. and if you read my other posts, you will note that i point out that it is a sad system, but most all major D1 programs have gone to the same set up.. UT was one of the last to fall.
