How does the AD find out that a season ticket holder passed away? Why not just fill out the renewal?

after going to home games for 40 years my father and mother passed away and i was told the seats
will revert back to the university anless i want to
make a 5,000.00 donation to keep my seats.
i know i could get seats in another section for
1,000.00 donation. but i just dont know if the
product is worth it. im going to be doing serious
sole searching this spring. sad sad sad sad sad

i feel for ya bro. that sucks. i agree that tix go up every year and the product is very average. let them go back man, watch the game and party in the parking lot. hamilton has done some good things at UT, but this is the stupidest by far, this and not sending phil packing. watch the games from the parking lot or home, think about it no game is worth 5 grand. especially when we have grown to love losing at home anyway. i gave up my season tix this year and i went to the florida and CAL games, it was just as fun.

I agree with champy.

Don't fork over the $$ if you aren't fully into it. That is a lot of money. You can always go to any game you want without season tickets. It is not hard to find tickets to just about any game.

i understand that.. if the money is hard to come by, don't do it. I can't afford to do it right now. but if i'm choosing between an HDTV or season tix, I'll wind up w/ 107k other people singing rocky top

There isn't any point in complaining about the system. It is what the AD has chose to use. If you want to get the season tickets then pay the money. If you don't want to pay the money then don't get the season tickets. I understand that you don't like the way the system is, but it isn't going to change. It is as simple as that.
