How do you think Tennessee will do now since they just had this terrible loss?Do you think it will effect them in the NCAA tournament? How far will they make it now? I just hope the NCAA Tournament will not be like the SEC Tournament was!

i think getting the extra rest can't be all bad, but i the lower seed hurts, we could have played into a 3, instead we played into a 5 and should we make the round of 16 will probably have to play duke or uconn, everyone pray we catch nova's bracket

JP announcers actually said something good...often "playing in the family" is tougher since they know your game inside and out. Perhaps we need to play "outside" of it...and, oh yeah...our best player MUST show up!

I think making it to the Sweet 16 is going to be tough. We'll pull a tough first round game when we have our 4 or 5 seed. The 12 and 13 seeds are going to go to teams like Syracuse, Arizona, MVC at larges, teams like that. It's going to be a fight to get out of the first round, and the 2nd round we'll see someone like Mich St, NC State, WVU, etc.

I'll consider it a huge success to get to the sweet 16.

Amazing how a thread like this goes up within 30 seconds of the loss. :disappointed:

I hate to say it, but I think we're out of gas and out of luck. Just getting past the first tourney game would be a positive in my mind.

What happens next? The offseason if they don't play any better than that. That was pathetic... thanks to Watson for at least showing up for one half.

I know its dissapointing if we lose the first round or second round in the NCAA Tournament & its also bad that we didnt make it past the 1st round in the SEC, but at least we finally seen some good things come out of our basketball team this season. My opinion is that it was a great year for our basketball team no matter what happens from here.

I think we will stay at the 4 spot because of the RPI. I just hope we don't get shipped out to Oakland.

At a 4, the current 11s on ESPN are Seton,Bucknell,SDSU,UAB...

As a 4 we play 13s: Iona, Kent St, S. Alabama, Wisc.-Milw

As a 5 we play 12s: Michigan, Missouri St, St. Joe's, Texas A&M

SDSU is supposed to be decent...

All of those teams are good, with SDSU being the smallest threat.

However, we won't drop to a 6 seed, so no need to consider who is at 11.

They'd never matchup 2 SEC teams in the first round. Could be wrong but highly doubt it.

I never mentioned another SEC team.

I agree -- they stay away from conference matchups in round one. I think you go to a four seed right now. A lot depends on what happens elsewhere. But I'd say four seed.

Every time I post in a hurry I make a stupid mistake like that... :blush2:

I used to always forget the numeric matchups, then I started telling myself that both seeds numerical value, once added, equals 17. So if I think Alabama will be a 10 seed, I know they'd play a 7. :D

Joe Lunardi had a chat at 3 p.m. on espn.com. He says even with the loss that UT is on the line between a 3 and a 4 seed. Says that if LSU wins the SEC tourney, they can be a #2 seed!

I am loving Florida's position right now. Gators are in prime position to become the wise guy pick for Final Four and could for sure ruin someone's day in Round Two.

Or we could suck at tournament time as usual and lose by 50 to Belmont.

I did not see your game, but just read the ESPN recap. You guys haven't been past your first game of the SEC tourney since 1991? Is that right? What the f?
