We are on our way back! That was the best UT game I have seen in a long time. The boys played like they were going to win tonight! We had it in the bag and lost it due to an extreme effort to end the ball game by one of our players. Worley looked like a SEC qb in the second half and actually ran the ball....he's earned my respect. North, Croom, and Pig are all stars in the making. Neal might have earned himself a spot in the NFL with his play the last two weeks. Play calling was fantastic tonight, fun offense to watch when it's working and very hard to stop. Sutton is going to be a beast! So much to look forward to this year and next year with a new crop of talent. Go Vols!

There was a feeling to me not unlike at the UCLA game in 97, where the Bruins just barely found a way to lose at the end. I knew they were going to give some team hell after that loss, and they did: they beat Texas handily the following week, scoring 63 points in the process.

I hope we can respond in a similar manner. I smell roast chicken on the menu in a couple weeks...

They turned the corner the second half against UF, except for the minor 4th quarter set back versus USA.

Georgia fan here. UT played a heck of a game tonight and my hat is off to you. Especially in the 2d half, the Vols had plenty of fight, never game up. You gave us all we could handle. Good luck for the rest of the season!

I posted last week that the So Alabama game wasn't a win.... and I don't think this was a loss, in the bigger picture of rebuilding the program. Last week we took a small step back ... this week we took a huge step forward.... in front of 102K fans, and more importantly, 49 recruits, many of which who will now decide they want to be a part in helping rebuild this program.

Id say we are on the corner. A win turns it.

Agreed. We haven't turned until we actually win one. However, that was a FANTASTIC effort tonight by a tough-minded group of players. I thought that the coaches did it right.

And I am glad that the recruits visiting tonight saw Neyland Stadium rocking all night. Yeah, it ended badly, but there's some signs of life for once in a long while.

To Pig Howard: I know it won't take the pain away, but you were a big reason why we were in position to win the game in the first place. Shake it off. The Volunteer Nation is behind you and the rest of Team 117!

Class post. Thoughts and best of luck to the injured Georgia players.

Not until we start picking up W's.

I've been saying the same thing and being mocked. Dooley did this a couple times a year too. I'm on board but let's win more than 2 SEC games this year before we put Butch in the Hall of Fame.

Best UT game I have watched in a long time. Had a bunch of people over at my house cheering on the Vols..heartbreaker to lose..but those kids played way above expectations! Sad they lost but Proud at how they played!

We better roast the chicken - Missouri and Auburn are looking dangerous. But, great effort today - felt like the good old days. Go Vols!

As a fan, yes.

But I hope the team has a bad taste in their mouth. One that makes them crave for a little more. I want these guys knowing they let one slip away and refuse to accept any less the rest of the way.

Very classy right here.

You all lost several key players during the game. We can empathize with the injury bug.

Not yet.

When it results in Ws in games like this thats when the corner is turned.

Took a good step toward it.

Nice post, stick around VN.

Georgia needs more fans like you and less overweight middle age men slobber barking.
