Tennessee Jed?

Tennessee, Tennessee, there ain't no place I'd rather be
Baby won't you carry me back to Tennessee
Go Vols!

I went and watched the Tennessee-Bama game with my best friend in Lenore City. Drove back to Friendsville and hang out with my family to celebrate. I had this on my Tennessee victory playlist and man was it amazing to listen to, that 30 minute drive with the windows down and reflecting on all the **** the program has been through and having that moment. Especially since the song talks about ****** things happening to you in life and going back home. It was such a nice, personal experience for me after a **** week.

Id say the reason we don’t play at Neyland is because the verses take a long time to get to the chorus but I’d personally like to incorporate the first verse/chorus somehow on Gameday.

(Also, personally…don’t like friends in low places as the third quarter song. Like the song, Need something pumps you up a little bit more.

I bet I could drop in a lot of the Grateful Dead’s typical 1st set songs between 1970-1974 and some of the barn burners from 1977-1980 into a playlist without telling most people from this board who is singing and would get a positive reaction. Deal, Jack Straw, Brown Eyed Women, Minglewood Blues, US Blues, Going Down the Road Feeling Bad, Promised Land, Sugar Magnolia, Casey Jones, list goes on…
They played jug band music, bluegrass, psychedelic rock, jazz, avant garde, classic country western, classic rock, disco, funk, and just about everything under the sun as times changed over a 30 year touring history. 3,000 live shows.

Don’t even have to stop at ‘77. Listen to Jerry rip a Deal solo from 1989 and tell me it’s not great stuff.

Listenin' to the The Good Ol Grateful Dead and cheerin' on The Tennessee Volunteers
Tennessee, Tennessee
A'int No Place I'd Rather Be
GO VOLS!

Tennessee Jed moved away from there
Said California‘s the place he ought to be
So he loaded up the truck
And he moved to Beverly
